A look behind the scenes at one of our latest modular barn builds.
This one is still a work in progress, but we wanted to share a bit of the assembly and installation before showing the finished barn.
The barn measures 36ft x 24ft, with three spacious 12ft x 12ft stables and a passageway running along the front.
The full structure, including the roof frame and supporting pillars, is hot-dip galvanised for long-term protection against corrosion. The client chose a black powder coat finish over the galvanised steel for the stables, pillars and internal dividers.
The stables are finished with carbonised laminated bamboo infill — extremely durable, weather resistant and designed to stand up to everyday use around horses.
To keep as much natural light in the barn as possible, we've included a 60cm polycarbonate window running along the top of the external panels, along with polycarbonate gable windows at either end.
Sliding barn doors finish both ends of the passageway, with stainless steel finger latch locks and plenty of other small details throughout.

Both the stable fronts and feeding barriers are finished in hot-dip galvanised steel, with matching tongue-and-groove bamboo infill, combining durability with a clean, modern finish.
The custom hinged stable partitions are designed to fold neatly back between the water troughs, feed pots and hay racks — making daily cleaning and yard management considerably more time and labour efficient, particularly in a busy professional yard.
Much like the way he produces his horses, Michael’s attention to detail is evident throughout the project. The result is a safe, secure and highly practical environment for the horses, without compromising on appearance.

Loose Housing Feeding Barriers
Heavy-duty loose housing feeding barriers designed for long-term use in equestrian and agricultural applications.
Length: 4.8 m (15 ft 9 in)

Finish: Fully hot-dip galvanised steel frame
Feeding spaces: Six openings, each 300 mm wide
Each barrier is supplied with three adjustable heavy-duty hinges and mounting plates for fixing directly to steel girders.
A reinforced top brace with two additional hinges provides maximum strength and support, while a heavy-duty weight-bearing wheel at the outer end ensures smooth operation and reduces stress on the hinges.
All barriers are fitted with a central stability pin to minimise movement and reduce bending forces across the span, improving rigidity and long-term durability.
Also available: Feeding barriers with an integrated 1.3 m personnel entry gate.

We recently headed down to the stallion show at Ballypatrick Stables and had a brilliant day.
Great to spot some of our customised pieces in place, and we really appreciated the chance to showcase our range — from stable fronts and jumping wings to tack lockers and feed bins.
We’re always looking to keep improving and pushing our designs forward, so it was a real inspiration seeing such an impressive lineup of stallions, damlines, and sport horses.
