Founded 1898 in East Belfast, Willowfield Harriers welcomes members of all abilities! Willowfield Harriers has a long history.
Today, we are still a relatively successful and dynamic running club, open to membership for all age groups from 9 years old (Primary 6) & upwards through to seasoned Veterans (Over 35s)
We have a vibrant Mini & Junior section. While we believe it’s important that children enjoy running, we are content that many of our Mini & Junior athletes are also involved in other sporting pursuits. We are c

Podium4Sport Seeley Cup 10k - Saturday 28th November 2026 The Seeley Cup is one of the longest running 10ks in Northern Ireland having been going since 1982. The annual 10k race attracts a top-class field every year and follows a relatively flat route along the Ormeau Embankment and winds through Ormeau Park.
🔥 THE CLUB RELAY RETURNS! 🔥
Yesterday saw the return of our annual Willowfield Harriers Club Relay — and what a race! 😍🏃♀️🏃♂️
14 teams. 4 runners per team. 1 set of club honours. 🏆
The pre-race nerves were REAL 😬 Everyone wanted to run well — not just for themselves, but for their teammates counting on them!
This year brought a new venue and a tough challenge, with runners taking on two-mile loops around Stormont 🌳💨
And it was CLOSE… 👀
The lead changed hands multiple times throughout the race, with every runner giving absolutely everything for their team. 💪🔥
In fact, our eventual winning team were sitting in 14th position after the first runners completed their leg — proving that it really is never over until it’s over, and teaching us all an important lesson: never give up! 💪
Then came the nail-biting finale… 🫣
🏆 A TEAM COMPRISED OF FOUR JUNIORS TOOK THE WIN! 🏆🎉
And in a battle that went right to the very end, one of our youngest runners found themselves battling it out with one of our oldest — a brilliant reflection of what makes Willowfield Harriers so special: a club for all ages and all abilities. 💙
Huge congratulations to our winning team — and a massive well done to every single athlete who raced. The effort, teamwork and club spirit were brilliant from start to finish. 💙👏

Brilliant evening at the Coleraine Campus 5k & NI & Ulster 5k Championships on Friday.
13 of our members headed up to take on the event and what an evening it was - 8 of them came home with new Pbs!

Thank you Mallusk 5 Mile Road Race for another great race! We survived the killer hills!
Fantastic 5th place for Jacob McKittrick. Mark Shieldz picked up the 1st M60 prize, Davy Proctor was 3rd M45 and Athanasia Sevastaki was 2nd F50.
Niko also had a brilliant run in the Junior 1 mile race coming over the line in 6th.

Five adventurous Willowfielders took on the Bluestacks Way Ultra 25km in Donegal last weekend. With steep mountain climbs, knee deep bogs, long grass and chest high ferns on an unmarked course, their navigation skills were well and truly tested!
Despite a wrong turn, Kathryn finished as 3rd female, a great achievement after last weekends 24 Hr relay efforts!

At the weekend, Lois McClelland and Anya Whiteford took part in something very exciting.
They headed to Morton Stadium in Dublin to represent Willowfield in an event celebrating Ciara Mageean.
At the National Senior Championships, Athletics Ireland invited Juniors from all the clubs in Ireland to join them in an event to inspire the next generation and to celebrate Ciara's remarkable achievements as European Champion, Olympian and Irish record holder.
The girls meet Ciara and took to the track to run a special race with her.
This was an honour for the girls to represent the club and to celebrate a remarkable Irish athlete!

Recent Results
1500m, 5ks, 10ks, 10 miles, Half Marathons, Marathons and the madness of a 24 hour Relay!
Lots of amazing results from our members over the last month. Kicking off with Half Marathon in Termonfeckin and Kilclief Half Marathon amd 10k. Mark Shaw ran a new Half Marathon, Alastair King made his debut in blue and white and it is great to see Lia Campbell back racing.
At the Portaferry 10 miles, the club had 10 out racing. Chris Dean & Neill Weir finished in the Top 10 and Chris ran a new Pb.
There were Pbs also for Jasmine Ellison and Damian Boylan.
At Donaghadee 5k, Benjamin Challis ran a new course Pb to finish in 11th place.
At the Hillsborough Running Festival at the weekend, Hannah Eastaff ran a brilliant 10k to take the Silver. Joanna McAdam ran a Pb and was 5th in her age category. Chrs Burns also ran a new Pb in the Half Marathon.
Emily Morris was back in form at the Athletics NI Open Meet taking 1st in the 1500m and running a new Pb!
And finally, the We Run Wild Ni Belfast 24 hour Event, what an event!
Amazing running from Lewis Smyth, Kathryn Walls, Jonny Stothers and Stephen Morris! Unbelivable running!
If you aren't aware of the event, it is 24hours around Victoria Park, each runner runs 2 hours on, 6 hours off for 24 hours - no easy feat!
Team Willowfield took the win with a final tally of 172 laps covering 177.17 miles, 17 laps ahead of 2nd place, amazing!
Anne McNally was also taking on her own challenge with 2 marathons - 1 started at midnight! Not only did Anne complete the challenge, she absolutely smashed it with a Bronze in Marathon 1 and Silver in Marathon 2!
A big shout out to the support squad, I know without you it would just not have been possible for the runners!
