Part 3 – Concentration

Pilates is as much about the mind as it is about the body.

Concentration means being fully present in each movement, paying attention to how your body feels and how you’re moving, rather than just going through the motions.

Focusing your mind helps you:

- improve your technique
- build a stronger mind-body connection
- get more from every exercise

It’s easy to get distracted, but Pilates encourages you to slow down and tune in to what your body is doing.

The more focused you are, the more effective your practice becomes. That’s why we’ll often remind you to be mindful of your breath, posture, and movement throughout class.

Job opportunity to work for a welcoming and community focused studio 🌱

We’re looking for an organised, friendly and proactive part-time administrative assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our studio. This position is a 9 month maternity cover.

This role is ideal for someone for enjoys working with people, has strong administrative skills and is looking for flexible work.

Key responsibilities are-
Manage studio bookings, cancellations and client enquiries via phone and email.
Assist with class scheduling and instructor coordination.
Support with the administrative tasks for our teacher training.
Assist with basic marketing activities.
Support studio events and workshops.

Start date - 1st September
The position is 10 hours per week
Competitive hourly rate

Part 2 – Control

Pilates isn’t about speeding through movements, it’s about doing them well. Control is what turns a simple exercise into something really effective.

Every movement should feel steady and deliberate, rather than rushed or thrown together.

Focusing on control helps you:

- activate the right muscles
- move with better precision
- get stronger without putting strain on your body

We’ll keep reminding you to take your time because how you move matters just as much as what you’re doing.
It can feel more challenging to slow things down, but that’s where the real work is happening.

Some studio updates ✨

We’ve got a few changes and new additions to share with you all over the coming weeks.

Liv will be back from May 🙌

Shannon is now teaching the Tuesday 7:30am class.

We’ve also added a few new classes to the schedule recently:

• Wednesday 4:30pm (Intermediate) & 5:30pm (Beginner) with Lucy
• Monday 4:30pm (Intermediate) & Friday 11am (Beginner) with Ciara
