Badminton Ireland, in partnership with Leinster Badminton, Ulster Badminton, Munster Badminton and Connacht Badminton, is delighted to announce the launch of - the 'ALL 32 Primary Schools Badminton Competition'.

The exciting new-look to the primary school competition will bring primary schools from all 32 counties together, creating more opportunities than ever for young pupils to experience competitive badminton and represent their schools.

BWF Shuttle Time Coaches Coaching Course 🏸🏸

Ulster Badminton are running the following Shuttle Time Course:

When: Saturday 12th September 2026- 12-6pm
Where: Strathearn School, 188 Belmont Rd, Belfast, BT4 2AU

Please note participants must be at least 16 years old, be a BI member and completed both BI Garda Vetting/ UB Access NI and Safeguarding Level 1 to register for this course

The Grading Appeals window is now open. Please submit appeals by Thursday 24th September 2026

No appeals will be accepted after that date

Ulster Badminton Excel Coach Development Programme 2026/27

Ulster Badminton are pleased to open the applications for the Ulster Badminton Excel Coach Development Programme 2026/27. The programme is designed to support and develop Ulster Based coaches across a range of areas including knowledge, skills and experiences in a shared learning environment.

Over a period of 9 months, up to 10 coaches will meet, discuss and share knowledge around our sport in relation to:

- Developing their individual coaching book/ portfolio with all elements relations to badminton (tactical, technical, mental, physical, planning and pedagogy etc)
- Developing and strengthening their own coaching philosophy
- Developing an understanding of players’ requirements and optimal working methods to develop players with examples at 4 different development stages

EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS LAST 16

Massive win for Corey Chambers and Conor Blakeman 🇮🇪on day three of the European Junior Championships.

The young Irish pair who are still under 17 have booked their place in the last 16 of the event after beating Luca Perfido and Maximilian Zeimes 🇱🇺 20-22 21-6 21-13.

In the last 16 match tomorrow Corey and Conor will now face number four seeds Gokay Go and Mert Seven 🇹🇷 👏💪☘️

Ards Regional Development Squad - Try out 🏸🏸

Ulster Badminton are running an Ards Regional Development Squad- Try Out Session on Tuesday 15th September 2026 from 6.15-7.45pm in Regent House School Sports Hall, Circular Road, Newtownards, BT23 4QA
The Try Out session is open to all players from (9-13 years old).

Umpire Course

The 2026 Badminton Ireland COG Umpire Course takes place in September starting with: Laws of Badminton on the 2nd and Instructions to Technical Officials (ITTO’s) on the 8th.
The Practical Sessions will be arranged at the theory session on the 8th.
Each province has a target event for the trainees to attend.
