FROM THE ARCHIVE: The class of southpaw Sean McComb won through to the 64kg Ulster Elite Championship title at the Ulster Hall in Belfast on Friday November 24 2017. It finished gold and two silver for Holy Trinity boxers on the finals night with Sean Duffy and Jason Barron giving it their all in cracking final contests. FROM THE ARCHIVE: With the Commonwealth Games just around the corner (July 23 to August 2 2026), here's another great pic to inspire the Northern Ireland boxing team in Glasgow. It's a historic pic from the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, Canada. Gold medal winners, Holy Trinity's Jim Webb and Neil Sinclair (Holy Family), arrive back home to a rousing reception. NI team coaches with in Victoria were the two boxers' club coaches, Michael Hawkins (pictured) and Gerry Storey. And from a Holy Trinity perspective there's another two Trinity legends in the pic, club stalwart Bridie Hawkins (RIP) and her grandson, a young Michael Hawkins Jnr.
Trinity boxers have competed with distinction at the Commonwealth Games in every decade since the 1980's. Here's our second batch of Holy Trinity's Commonwealth contenders and coaches, including a gifted Gold medal hero from the 1990's. There'll be more decades, Trinity names, and medals to follow in the build-up the Games, which get under way in Glasgow later this month.

PICTURE THIS: Our boxers have travelled far and wide down the years competing at venues across the globe. And many past and present Holy Trinity boxers still pop up regularly in all sorts of locations, flying the Trinity colours wherever they go, whether on boxing duty or well-earned holidays. So, if you've ever been a HT member feel free to put a pic or two from your travels in the Comments below and we'll do our best to include them on our social media sites.
Wonder who has travelled the furthest distance?
We'll start the Trinity Travels with former double Irish Senior champion, John Erskine. It felt like a home from home when JohnnyBoy visited the Big Apple recently, distance from Ardmonagh Gardens, Turf Lodge around 3163.8 miles (5091.6 kilometres).
Dandering along Vesey Street in New York, he spotted and couldn't resist checking out the famous Trinity Boxing Club. Formed over 100 years ago, its website is a treasure trove of famous names of yesteryear and it's no surprise to find out there's a strong Irish influence in its foundation.

A WEALTH OF BOXING TALENT: A terrific evening at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in central Belfast this week (Thursday July 2, 2026) as the Ulster Boxing Council invited club reps to a presentation event ''in recognition of boxers selected for the 2026 Commonwealth Games Northern Ireland team.''
