The 1sts are back in action this weekend, ramping up towards the start of the season and stepping up to the challenge of Queens Grads FC who play in the league above. Get down and support the lads! 💙💙💙

A good performance with plenty of chances created and two good goals scored. Some controversial decisions changed the dynamic of the game somewhat, but plenty of positives for the lads to take into the upcoming season.

Another tough pre-season game for the 1sts tomorrow night at home, starting to round off the pre-season campaign and get started in the league. Get down and support the lads! 💙💙💙

A strong first half performance had the lads going in at half time with a deserved 1-0 lead. Lots of changes at half time and into the second half changed the dynamic of the team, which ultimately led to conceding two goals and ending the game in a disappointing defeat.

🔵🔵🔵2ND TEAM MANAGER APPOINTMENT🔵🔵🔵

More big news for Ulster University as we are delighted that we can announce our second team manager for the upcoming season. The club have appointed Paul Magill as the second team coach and we are very excited to see what he can bring.

Paul has an extensive history in the amateur league, previously with North Belfast United and more recently assisting with Crumlin Star, so his wealth of knowledge and commitment to football will help cement the 2nds as they take on a new challenge in a higher league this season.

The club are extremely pleased with this appointment and we welcome Paul to Ulster University!

We are still actively recruiting to strengthen our two squads, so if you want top quality coaching with first class facilities - get in touch or come down to training at the grass pitches at Ulster University Jordanstown Campus, 7pm every Tuesday and Thursday!!! 💙💙💙

🔵🔵🔵1ST TEAM MANAGER APPOINTMENT🔵🔵🔵

Huge news for Ulster University as we are delighted that we can announce our first team manager for the upcoming season! Following discussions, Ryan Adams will be taking on the first team manager position and the club is extremely excited to see what his experience and energy can bring to the team. Ryan is an experienced manager known throughout the amateur league, formerly at Crewe and Drumbo FC, and is currently a lecturer at Ulster University in Coaching and Sports Development. We have no doubt that his footballing experience will hand boost to the team both in pre season and the season itself. Due to other commitments, Ryan will be taking up the position permanently from September 22nd and the club wants to wish him every success in taking up this position.

Even more positive news for the club, while Ryan starts his integration into his new position, Stevie Small will be coming on board as a first-team coach starting immediately. Another individual who needs no introduction, Stevie has an accomplished CV with former clubs Cliftonville and Ballyclare Comrades, and is currently the Coordinator and Lead Coach for the LLS Football Academy in Belfast. Stevie brings a wealth of football knowledge with him to the club to support the team and push us on as the club strives to build on the excellent growth of the past few seasons.

The club are extremely pleased with both appointments and we welcome both Ryan and Stevie to Ulster University! 💙💙💙

The scoreline does not reflect the performance from the lads whatsoever. Plenty of positives to take from the game and the boys stuck together against a very well drilled opponent.

The main event was the bus trip of course, plenty of initiation songs done, plenty of sore heads today and a class time had by all!

The club’s annual trip to Donegal takes place this weekend against new opponents, Ballybofey United. The lads are in for a good test and after the game, have an opportunity to let the hair down a bit before the season begins. A good few initiation songs this year so should be a good one!💙💙💙
