EP 7: 4 lessons
The first month is done.
And if there’s one thing these 4 weeks have reinforced, it’s that getting leaner as a footballer doesn’t need to be complicated.
You don’t need to sacrifice your carb load.
You don’t need to train twice a day.
You don’t need to destroy yourself in the gym.
And you definitely don’t need to be perfect.
You need a plan that allows you to consistently train, fuel, recover and still enjoy your life.
4 weeks down.
Now it’s time to build on it.

No football this week so we made the most of it and went and got some nice coffee and good food.
Training has been on point in terms of gym work and with having a free week, I took the opportunity to stay off feet and let the Achilles settle down before getting back into this week.
Reminder your weeks will look different, your training sessions and schedule will look different but your attitude should always remain the same.
Enjoy your week ahead

30KG DOWN but the biggest change goes far beyond the scales.
When Oby started coaching around a year ago, the goal was simple: lose weight, get fitter and build something he could actually maintain.
He’d tried losing weight before, but like a lot of people, the biggest struggle wasn’t knowing he needed to make a change, it was staying consistent long enough to see the results.
Over the last year we’ve focused on:
• Creating structure around his training
• Keeping sessions varied and enjoyable
• Building better habits around his lifestyle
• Giving him accountability when motivation wasn’t there
• Focusing on consistency rather than perfection
The result?
30kg lost.
But more importantly, Oby is fitter, stronger, more confident and in a completely different place with his training and lifestyle.
No extreme approach.
No constantly starting over.
Just a plan he could stick to and a lot of consistency.
Massive credit to Oby for the work he’s put in over the last year and we’re not finished yet 🤝

Nutrition for athletes is pretty simple
1️⃣Fuel to perform and recover
2️⃣Look good while doing it
The key being more energy around your training days & games.
It doesn’t need to mad different meals or reinventing the wheel.
You find what suits you and repeat

You don’t need 400 different exercises
The amount you do will change depending on where you are in the season
But I wouldn’t completely remove these qualities just because you’re playing every week
You don’t build them for a “6 week challenge” and forget about them
You maintain and improve all year round

Second week of balancing performance, getting leaner and still enjoying life and everything’s moving in the right direction.
Nothing drastic has changed. Just tightening everything up, being more consistent with the food, training hard and making recovery a priority.
Football didn’t exactly go to plan this weekend 😂 Took a knock to the head and had to come off with a slight concussion. Frustrating, but these things happen.
Clients are flying at the minute, performance, rehab, physique goals or general health and fitness, everyone is putting the work in.
Some big wins coming this week with players making returns to pitch 👀
Enjoy your week.

From struggling with consistency and picking up injuries…
To 10+ full 90-minute games with no hip or groin pain.
That’s the difference having structure around your training can make.
When Michee started, the goal wasn’t to just throw more gym sessions into his week.
It was to identify what was holding him back, build strength in the areas that needed it and make sure his gym work actually helped him perform on the pitch.
Since March he’s been able to consistently get through full games without the hip and groin issues that were previously causing him problems.
That’s what training should do.
Help you stay available.
Help you perform.
And give you confidence in your body again.
If injuries keep interrupting your season, drop me a message with “PERFORMANCE” and we’ll have a chat.

great results don’t come unexpectedly, they come from a system.
stop playing guessing games with your training.
find a system that work then rinse and repeat
