Another preseason game under our belt with away match against Kelvin youth tonight.

Our swifts returned to 9aside and the pitch at Blythefield is very small and it took a bit of getting used to for Belfast swifts. It was even for the first 10mins and our midfield started to get control of the game with Emma and Katy H making some brilliant passing plays towards our strikers.

It wasn't long before Cliodhna scored the opening goal with Elzya winning the ball at right back and a quick pass to Katy H who picked out Cliodhna at the edge of the box to score into the top corner to make it 1-0 ⚽️

As the game went on towards the end of the 1st half Emma hit a long range shot only for the defender to hand ball it and a penalty to Belfast swifts. It was Sophia who stepped up to take the penalty and finished it into the bottom corner away from the keeper to make it 2-0 ⚽️

We regrouped at half time and asked our swifts to move the ball a bit quicker towards our strikers and thats when 3rd goal came from Emily who worked extremely hard today laid the ball off to Katy T at the edge of the box to score brilliantly past the Kelvin keeper to make it 3-0 ⚽️.

Our swifts were flying in the 2nd half and missed multiple attempts and should have scored alot more and our striker Emily got her reward with a brilliant finish after going past the defender and finished with a cool finish past the keeper to make it 4-0 ⚽️

A brilliant game for Belfast swifts as the league starts in a few weeks. Alot of positives from all the team who all worked tirelessly today with Pippa behind who made some fantastic saves from Kelvin. A massive well done to all our swifts.

A special mention to Cleena who is out injured for a few weeks. Who came over to support her team mates tonight. Get well soon Cleena 🙌

Player of the match - Sophia. She put in a brilliant shift and laid the ball off when needed and started a lot of attacks and finished the penalty for her teammates. Well done Sophia.
