One of our volunteer roles is Report Writer, and anyone can give it a go—whether you’re a regular or visiting for the first time.
This week’s report is from Danny—thank you for visiting and telling us about your visit!
Bedworth parkrun Event #353
A great start to the weekend, in lovely conditions in Bedworth - a bit cooler than recent weeks which was welcomed. Bedworth welcomed 200 runners joining the weekly ritual on their 353rd event.
Personally, it was my first time at Bedworth!! What a way to start the weekend!
There were visitors from all over the UK running and volunteering today, including from Nottingham, Eastbourne, Shrewsbury, Wythenshaw and a mention from someone living up the road, fair play to everyone for making the journey, it made the first timers brief with Fiona a relatively busy one.
There were 9 new parkrunners who joined today, good luck with your new addiction and well done for starting your parkrun journey to Ellis Eales, Sarah Thompson, Hazel Bradford-Jones, Ethan Cartern, Sarah Healey, Carly Eales, Liam Neal, Elise O’Sullivan, and Bharati Rai - the second ones always the hardest.
Everything started with a very enthusiastic run brief from Alison. The course is a new 3 lap route around the park with concrete and a bit of trail, with one very slight decline on each lap namely “Miners Mount” which added more challenge to the course. The encouragement from everyone was great!! 200 runners completed the course today with 32 on their first time at Bedworth.
After the run, coffee was available at The Mayor’s Café!
It would be great for more people to step forward and volunteer - all roles are easy to complete and fun, so please give it a go and get in touch!!
Thanks to everyone for making this morning so welcoming and thanks as always to all 30 volunteers! Happy parkrunning!
