Wednesday night we travel to Shefford Town & Campton to face their first team.

Fresh off Friday’s 5-1 win over Wootton, we’re up against a side who opened their season with a 7-0 result against Riseley. Newly down from the Spartan South Midlands League, and the last time we met their firsts was March 2019.

Seven years in the making.

𝗖𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝟱-𝟭 𝗪𝗼𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗻 — 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀

Crescents could not have asked for a better start to the season, travelling to Weston Park on Friday night and coming away with a commanding 5-1 win over Wootton — roared on by 50 travelling supporters who were electric from first whistle to last.

Weston Park is never an easy place to go, least of all for an opening fixture, but the boys were unreal from the off, and the away end gave them everything. The breakthrough came through Raheem Jabbar, who finished off a superb team move — Godwin made a driving run and cut the ball back to the back post for Jabbar to meet it on the volley and fire home. It stayed that way to the break, Crescents 1-0 up in a fierce, tightly contested first half.

Whatever was said at half time worked. Crescents came out and put the game to bed with four more. Godwin got himself on the scoresheet twice, before Jabbar added his second for a double of his own. Ben then rounded things off with the fifth to seal a comprehensive away win, Wootton only able to pull one back as a consolation. By the end, Weston Park sounded like a home fixture.

A brilliant night’s work, the perfect way to open the campaign, and a huge thank you to every one of the 50 who made the trip. On to the next one.

𝑾𝑬 𝑨𝑹𝑬 𝑩𝑨𝑪𝑲

𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲/𝟮𝟳 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 — 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿.

The first team head to Weston Park this Friday for a 19:45 kick-off against Wootton Blue Cross. As the first league game of the season, all eyes will be on this one, and it promises to be a thriller.

The reserves begin life in Division 1 after last season’s promotion, travelling to FC Haynes. The last meeting between these two ended 1-1 in pre-season — but this time there are points on the line.

Crescents are back for the 2026/27 season — and the opening run doesn’t come much tougher.

We kick off under the lights on Friday 4th September against Wootton Blue Cross. Next through the gates are Shefford Town & Campton’s first team, dropping down from the Spartan South Midlands League — our first meeting with them since 2019.

After that we take on Cranfield United, second-place finishers last season, before welcoming reigning champions Caldecote to Allen Park for a fixture that always goes right to the wire. We then round off the month against Riseley Sports.
