❤️💛 Week 15 Results 🏏

Another positive weekend for The Phoenix, with two wins from three as the 2nd and 3rd XI both produced excellent performances to secure the points 🔥

1️⃣🏏 1st XI: The 1st XI were unable to build on last week's result, falling to Cambridge NCI by 6 wickets. Conor Hurman battled hard for 38, while Deryn Fowler, Zane Haroon, Connor Heaps and Jaiden Merritt all claimed a wicket. The team will be looking to bounce back next weekend 💪

2️⃣🏏 2nd XI: A dominant all-round display saw the 2nd XI record a superb 143-run victory over Werrington. Anosh Bhosale smashed a magnificent 163, while Max Hurst remained unbeaten on 107* to register his maiden century as the pair put on a match-winning partnership. Ravindra Kodikara then led the charge with 5 wickets, helping the 2nd XI secure an emphatic victory 🔥

3️⃣🏏 3rd XI: A disciplined bowling performance laid the foundations for a 5-wicket victory over Biggleswade. Peppe Petrucci (3), Andy Hare (3) and James Holden-Storey (2) combined to bowl the visitors out for just 125, before Dean Barrow anchored the chase with a composed 53, supported by James Walker (18), to see the 3rd XI home 👏

👏 Max Hurst – A weekend to remember! Max scored his maiden century, finishing unbeaten on 107*, before backing it up with 2 wickets, playing a huge role in the 2nd XI's emphatic victory ❤️💛

💥 Anosh Bhosale – A phenomenal 163, producing one of the innings of the season to set up the 2nd XI's huge total 🔥

Another big weekend awaits for The Phoenix as all three senior sides are back in action, ready to give everything for the club 🔥

🏏 1st XI travel to Cambridge NCI looking to build on last week's excellent victory.

🏏 2nd XI are back at home as they welcome Werrington, aiming to return to winning ways in front of the Phoenix faithful.

🏏 3rd XI also have home advantage as they take on Biggleswade, hoping to keep their strong run of form going.

❤️🏏 What a fantastic start to our women's cricket journey! ❤️🏏

On Sunday, we welcomed an amazing group of women and girls to Blunham Cricket Club for our very first Women's Cricket Taster Session, and what a brilliant afternoon it was! ☀️

From complete beginners to those picking up a bat again after years away, everyone got involved with huge smiles, plenty of laughs and a willingness to give everything a go 😊

We covered the fundamentals of fielding 👐, bowling 🎯 and batting 🏏, with lots of games and challenges along the way, finishing with a fun match to put everyone's new skills into practice.

This is only the beginning of something really special. ❤️ We're building a fun, welcoming and inclusive environment where women and girls of all abilities can enjoy cricket, make new friends and be part of a growing community 🤝

A massive thank you to everyone who came along and made our first session such a success. Your enthusiasm, energy and support made the day what it was 💛

If you couldn't make it, don't worry, there's still plenty of time to get involved! We'd love to welcome even more women and girls to future sessions, so whether you've never played before or are looking to get back into the game, come and give it a try. ❤️💛 Week 14 Results 🏏

Two wins from three for The Phoenix this weekend, with the 1st and 3rd XI both producing excellent performances to bring home the points 🔥

1️⃣🏏 1st XI: A superb all-round display saw the 1st XI secure a 49-run victory away at Eaton Socon. Connor Heaps led from the front with a magnificent 118, supported by half-centuries from Jacques Wildon (54) and Jaiden Merritt (50). With the ball, Conor Hurman and Oscar Sarafian both claimed 3 wickets to complete an outstanding team performance.

2️⃣🏏 2nd XI: The 2nd XI suffered a narrow 3-wicket defeat at home to Elstow. Mo Hoque, Anosh Bhosale and Max Hurst all contributed 31, while the bowlers shared the wickets around. Unfortunately, the 2nd XI just fell short in a closely fought contest.

3️⃣🏏 3rd XI: The 3rd XI made it another victory with a 12-run win over Aspley Guise. Dean Barrow starred once again with a brilliant 93, well supported by Nick Harding (44) and Jamie Hay (32). James Holden-Storey, Jamie Hay and Peppe Petrucci all claimed 2 wickets to help defend the total.

Connor Heaps led from the front with a superb 118, setting up a commanding 1st XI victory with a captain's innings 👏❤️💛

🏏 Dean Barrow – A superb 93 to lead the 3rd XI batting effort.

📣 Free Youth Activity Sessions in Blunham! ⚽🏏🎾

We've been asked by Blunham Parish Council to help spread the word about these fantastic FREE youth activity sessions taking place at Blunham Cricket Ground over the summer holidays.

Delivered by qualified youth workers, these multisport sessions are open to children aged 8–16, with no booking required – simply turn up and get involved!
