Last year’s overall Aubergine of the Year returns to familiar territory.

Soggs is well known for his predatory instincts. Sadly, he is yet to be signed on for the new season, despite bagging a couple in pre-season… and even managing a goal.

As all good predators do, Soggs still turned up for the post-match celebrations and not waiting for the playing squad proceeded to eat not one, not two, but THREE hot dogs. He took a whopping 18 inches of meat, before necking a Guinness Zero despite not even kicking a ball.

However our winner is Alex Morley, Sponsored by Battle Ai with 16 votes

Introduced after 75 minutes to a NinTwos side firmly in the ascendancy, renowned hitman Alex Morley (Battle Ai) was aghast to discover the management team wanted him to play right wing-back.

A full 70 seconds after entering the field, Morley (Battle Ai) was scampering after the ball in his unique running style, previously likened to that of a newborn alpaca, when he delivered the immortal words:

“I CAN’T RUN, I’M TOO FAT!”

Moments later, he was witnessed bent double, breathing deeply and contemplating the physical demands of his brief exertion.

Seventy seconds.

However the season begun last week in our away kit proudly sponsored by Carrolls Greengrocers. Thus the first Vegetable of the Week vote.

Honourable mention is Dan "The Danger" Tyler sponsored by Tyler Investments Limited who despite watching all of the goals we scored get flagged for offside still inexpliacbly thought we were 1 nil up and didn't understand the source of everyone's frustration.

Runner-up- is the eternal lemon Regan Constable sponsored by Sussex Site Solutions, won 13 votes, after being subbed-off he was required to return to the field as his replacement Kye Hardiman was booked, and we didn't want to lose a man. Regan preceded to needlessly run his mouth and was rightly sin-binned. Leaving us with 10.

The winner with 17 votes is Mighty Morley Sponsored by Battle Ai, he proudly took last season's medal awarded for finishing runners-up in East Sussex Division 4 on a night out to, I quote "impress the ladies"
