Bath Grand Cru Pétanque Club

Saturday 19th July saw Bath Grand Cru Pétanque Club proudly host the inaugural Trophée Le Garçon at The Northey Arms, Box.

The tournament was organised in memory of our dear friend Andy Briggs – “Le Garçon” – bringing together 24 teams from across the region to celebrate Andy’s life through friendship, laughter and his favourite game of pétanque.

The day was a tremendous success, with fantastic competition played in a wonderful spirit from start to finish. It was fantastic to welcome a mix of experienced and newer players, all contributing to the friendly atmosphere that Andy would have loved.

As well as a memorable day’s pétanque, the event also raised a fantastic amount for Butterwick Hospice, thanks to the generosity of everyone who supported the BBQ, raffle, refreshments and donations.

Bath Grand Cru would like to thank everyone who entered a team, volunteered their time, donated raffle prizes, supported the fundraising and helped make the day such a fitting tribute. We’d also like to thank The Northey Boules Club for their hospitality throughout the day.

We’re incredibly proud to have hosted the first Trophée Le Garçon, and we hope it will become an annual event that continues to celebrate Andy’s memory for many years to come.
