A C-section does not protect you from pelvic floor weakness. Whether you deliver naturally or with intervention, the damage done to your pelvic floor is caused by the sheer weight of the contents of your uterus, including the placenta, fluid, and baby. So whatever, your journey, you need to carefully restore your pelvic floor so you can feel fully recovered and regain total functionality. At FitMama you can rehabilitate from as early as two weeks after natural birth under safe guidance from Coach ant Doula, Marie Behenna. Www.fitmamaonline.com
These mums joined me last year for their postnatal rehabilitation journey and now are on their advanced postnatal fitness journey. Clever techniques designed to safely heal and strengthen mums while building confidence and bravery
Summer holidays means we get lots of little VIP guests to the studio. Today, I had the pleasure of training this 7 year old superstar with his mum. He first came to the studio when he was a tiny baby and now he’s mummy’s little training partner 💛💙🙌🏻

The mum shown training in this reel exercised through both pregnancies with me. With her first pregnancy, Susannah attended my regular basic pregnancy exercise classes, but by the time baby number two came along, she was on a more intense fitness journey with me. Here she is training through that pregnancy using the modified techniques I taught her to keep the workout safe for her pregnancy. She certainly finished this pregnancy in a much stronger position and was exercising right up until she gave birth. Her recovery was fast and she returner exercise following my safe post birth repair journey
It’s not unusual for me to be seen carrying a baby or rocking a buggy during any given FitMama™️ class in Basingstoke. Pictured here at the Aquadrome, my chirpy assistant Archie was full of giggles and dribbles yesterday. What a sweet boy, who just needs a cuddle so mummy can get on with her exercise. FItMama™️ classes have been welcoming babies for over 20 years and we have been pioneers of making exercise accessible for mums who don’t have the luxury of childcare. Our classes are very relaxed when it comes to babies and children, you never need to worry about them making a fuss or needing a feed. I’m a mum of three and also your supportive doula for any course you are on with me, so I understand and care about how you feel. Aquadrome classes are funded by Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council and taught by yours truly

The excitement of becoming parents can also be overwhelming and worrying, and comes with pressures that you may not have felt before. It’s so important as parents to talk about your feelings and make sure that you agree on how you will approach facing parenting challenges as a couple. Even in a world of blended and different family structures, it’s important to find common ground so that when the difficult phases arrive, you have each other’s back… Especially when our little treasures become old enough to figure out how to play us off against one another. A united parenting front helps us to raise well adjusted children. Even if you disagree in the moment when your child is present, talk about that in private so you present a strong parenting foundation
Tai chi during pregnancy has many health benefits, particularly for mums who are feeling worried or anxious. This gentle movement might be the best form of exercise for you if you are unable to participate in other more active styles during pregnancy, or simply if you need something to help you relax while you connect with your baby’s energy. Classes are on Thursdays at 7pm and taught by me,
