⚽️TRAINING TUESDAYS⚽️
A busy week for the girls, training Tuesday on the back of last Saturday’s friendly with Grimsby Ladies, before we take to the road tonight for a friendly with Healing Hotspurs 🚌

Last night we continued to encourage the girls to play on the ‘front foot’; 4v4 and 5v5 games with a focus on playing under pressure; and the importance of what you do when without the ball/as much as when you have it; in particular movement before and after a pass.

Saturday Morning Football is back 🙌🥳
The girls will compete in Division 2 of the East Riding Girls football league this coming season, so when accepting an invitation for a friendly from Grimsby Ladies, we were keen to see how we might fare against a neighbour from the Lincs Football League.

Grimsby lifted the Lincs League Division 1 and County Cup double in an all conquering season unbeaten, and against a real high quality opposition Barton Girls competed resolutely.
The theme of the week has been a focus around application, effort and energy. The girls were organised, competed for every 50/50, pressed and covered, in what made for a competitive display and a great testament to the character of the team.

Thanks to Grimsby Ladies for the fixture… and best of luck for the 26/27 season.

🕵️ A closer look at our new 26/27 shirt🕵️‍♀️

The main playing shirt is in our unmistakably pink and blue colourway that has been part of the identity of the team since its formation in 2019.

The brushstroke design, as voted for by our supporters and sponsors, has been updated to include a new V-neck and the logo to the right sleeve proudly promotes our partnership with Her Game Too, a sign of our commitment to equality and inclusivity in girls football.

Only thanks to the superb support of 21 local businesses were we able to kit the girls out in our new playing shirt which bears the logos of our 26/27 main shirt sponsor, PAWS - Petsitting and Walking Services, and sleeve sponsor, The George Inn, Barton 🙏 🤝

The girls will wear the new playing kit for the first time when they take on Grimsby Ladies in our next friendly tomorrow morning before the league season’s opener on Sept 12th.

⚽️ TRAINING TUESDAYS ⚽️
The girls were really put through their paces last night working through a series of high intensity small sided games based around 2v1 and 3v2 overload scenarios. A focus on moving the ball forward quickly before your opponent can reorganise their defence, and sharp movement to create passing angles 😮‍💨🥵💪

Building on last week, the focus of this week’s session remained on stretching the opposition, but with the introduction of full/wing backs.

We’re keen to use the summer to work with the girls on their technical skills development, positioning and style of play, as we prepare for the start of next season.

Pre-season underway ✅

The girls are starting to step up their pre season preparations. With a particular focus on their technical skills development, last night’s session included movement off the ball, dragging defenders out of position and exploiting the gaps.

As always a really positive effort from the girls, putting the work in and enjoying it 👊😊

Something completely different for the girls who took part in their first Pitchside Football - Tournaments & Events beach football tournament this afternoon. A chance to show off their skills away from the grass and out on the sand 🏖️⚽️
The girls are working hard through pre season to prepare for next season but today was as much about enjoying the day and a love for the game!
