Lately there seems to be a lot of negativity within the fishing community. I really saddens me to read some of the negative comments about a sport that I absolutely love.

Some of us have decided that we need to try turn this around. To make small differences by creating a positive and welcoming community for all anglers to enjoy. Positivity can actually attract positivity and that’s what we’re aim to achieve for us, and future generations in the sport.

If you’re interested in getting on board you can do one simply thing. Add a a your posts, reels and Stories.
We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel, just to help it turn and smoother 🎣😃

Last night me and Mini Metal Fisherman snuck out for my 30th session of the year as he had been asking to go over the weekend.

The plan was to test out some different baits that can be easily bought anywhere and nearly anytime.
We settled for raw prawns and streaky bacon.

His scratching rod had the feathers tipped with bacon and I had the prawn on my scratching rod and settled in to see which bait would work best.
I also had a larger 3rd rod out using up some old bait I had battering around in the freezer on a long running ledger with a 4/0 circle dongle.

We didnt have to wait long for some knocks and nibbles on the scratching rods with the bacon getting far more interest than the prawns and then finally Sabastians rod bent over and line started peeling off.
1 up for the bacon, he landed his biggest bass yet!
A few quick pics and then chucked him back.

All went quiet then on the scratching rods, not that we could see any bites as the weather was beginning to turn with wind and rain hitting us on and off.
Im a brief dry spell my big rod tipped down and I had a fish on, initally when the fish surfaced I thought I was into my biggest conger but once landed I realised it was the biggest green eel ive ever seen (I know there are bigger ones but never seen them myself) coming in at over 55cm.

If anyone can tell me the best was to get eel slime out of a net please do tell 🤣

After this the weather became even worse so we beat a hasty retreat, luckily before the thunder and lightning!

2 PB's, some quality time with my boy and a new usable bait to add to the list 🤘🏻
