The New Bank FC

On Sunday the lads played their second competitive fixture and first league game against FC Cottage. What started off as a lovely Sunday ended up miserable.
Within the first 10 minutes we looked up for it we missed a 1v1 and after some aggressive pressing from Ewan Winnard winning the ball back multiple times it landed at maddi Milner who flicked it round the corner for Lewis white who hammered it across goal to put us 1-0 up. After this it was sadly a downhill slope conceding 5 on the opening day, we created plenty of chances throughout the game to keep us in it but it wasn’t to be

After a poor result in our preliminary cup round last Sunday we take on FC Cottage in our first League game. Result and performance has to be better this week as we hope to get our first 3 points on the board.

Yesterday the 2026/27 season got underway and it wasn’t a great day for New Bank. Started out well applying the pressure onto Ryhill but then a snapshot strike from about 40 yard from the Ryhill RB caught our keeper off guard, this clearly got ryhill playing and we found ourselves 3-0 down at half time. After a few subs and a change of shape we managed to gain abit more control in the second half Brad Fletcher scoring a lovely header from a George Hudson free kick and late on in the game to make it 6-2 Brad fletcher won a flick on from a throw in which fell to Edward Ryan who scored with a tidy finish under the keeper.
We know we can perform better than we did on this occasion but results will come just a bad day at the office for New Bank against a strong side. UTNB⚽️

This upcoming sunday sees the start of our 2026/27 league campaign. Starting out with preliminary cup game in the Roy Parden Trophy against Ryhill who are a division above, a win in this sends us through to the first round against very tough opposition Worsbrough United.

Last night we played Hoyland FC, a team which we played last season and failed to get a result, however yesterday was a different story. After defending very well for the first 45 minutes we went in at half time 0-0 not creating much but not letting the opposition get a real chance. A formation change at half time changed everything, early into the second half Maddi Milner fizzed a ball into Bobbie Williamson who dummied the ball but it bounced straight back at his feet 1 touch and finish into the corner. Hoyland came back putting pressure on when the opposition number 8 drilled a free kick towards the front post and Hoyland were quickest to react to the lose ball to make it 1-1. Not long after this Tyler Pacey beat his man out wide and delivered a lovely cross towards the back post which Hoyland’s CB won the header and put it in his own net. To finish of a quality second half performance a long ball was sent to Tyler P who won the flick on which reached Alex Miller who flicked it into the path of Tyler Arnold who volleyed it straight into the side netting.
Couldn’t be happier for the lads Teams getting better and better each week, hard work in training and games looks to be paying off.

Yesterday the lads travelled away to play The Club Pot and couldn’t be happier with the performance. Started from first whistle good football and a couple early chances before the opposition keeper sent his goal kick straight to Reece Arnold who took 1 touch and hit a half volley from about 35 yards out lobbing the keeper inside 5 minutes we kept the pressure on for the remainder of the first half but couldn’t find another. Then early on in the second half we won a free kick which Tyler Arnold delivered a gorgeous ball straight to Brad fletcher who found the time to control it and walk it into the net. To round of a superb performance Aaron Clarke played a pass into Charlie Hancock who drove with the ball cut inside and rifled the ball into the top corner. 3 quality goals today and a quality performance
MOTM hard one considering everyone played unreal but Leo Lucas takes this one quality in midfield

Poor result today from The New Bank as we lose 3-0 to Ryhill FC. Not the result we wanted at all today and not the best performance wise. We kept up with the opposition for most of the game, however struggled to create any good chance of note apart from a couple half chances. A sloppy goal inside the first half and then 2 late miss clearances was all the game wrote not many chances from either side. We played some good football at times and defended well for majority of the game but wasn’t to be today. Good minutes for lads and I’m sure we’ll be back scoring goals next Sunday UTFB
