Hot take… Relaxation isn’t the goal of a sound bath.👀
A sound bath gently shifts the body from ‘fight or flight’ into ‘rest & digest’. This is where repair happens.❤️🩹
The vibrations of the instruments reaches places thought cannot. That’s why release can happen.
You’re not ‘doing it wrong’ if you can’t switch off your mind.🤯 Regulation happens below the mind, it starts with the body, the nervous system, breath and tissues.
Not sure if your nervous system is actually letting go?
Yawning or deep sighing is a sign that your vagus nerve is activating.🥱
Tingling, warmth or subtle waves in the body (especially in the hands, feet or spine) means circulation is shifting and the mody is moving out of survival mode.🌀
Emotions may come up - tears, softness, cal, or relief are all signs of regulation.🙏🏼
Relaxation isn’t the goal of a sound bath, regulation is.

3 things you’ll get from Ashtanga yoga...
🧠 A calmer, clearer mind
Switch off from the outside world while you’re moving with the breath and holding strong postures.
💪🏼 Strength and mobility
This practice uses your own body weight to build functional strength, while safely increasing your range of motion.
🧘🏼♀️ A sense of discipline and commitment
You practice the exact same sequence of poses in the same order every single session. This can also help you build up to more challenging postures.
If you’re curious about Ashtanga, take this as your sign to try it! Join Adrianna every Saturday morning at 09:15.☀️

If you think yoga is just about touching your toes, have a swipe through 👉🏼
Asana (postures) is such a small part of our yoga practice. In yogic philosophy, Patanjali’s Eight Limbs of Yoga describes Yamas (personal practices that relate to our interactions with others and to the outer world) and Niyamas (personal practices that relate to our inner world) as the first two steps to Samadhi (the state of ecstasy)✨
If you set boundaries and say no without explaining yourself, you’re practising Satya - truthfulness.
If you’re patient with yourself and rest without feeling guilty, you’re practising Ahimsa - non violence.
If you start over again after quitting, that’s Tapas - steady effort.
You might step onto your mat to gain flexibility, but you’ll leave with so much more...🧘🏼♀️
