Knee pain is rarely just about the knee.

It’s one of the most common issues we see, especially in women, and it’s often confusing, isolating, and exhausting to try to solve alone.

We’ve coached runners through it for years, not just from experience supporting others, but from our own injuries and setbacks too.

We don’t diagnose, that’s not our job. What we do is guide the movement, strength and stability work, recovery and fuelling that actually gets you back running, working alongside the physios and osteos who handle the diagnosis. We make the journey calmer.

One of our LRC athletes went from months off and scared to try, to crossing the finish line at one of the toughest triathlons in the UK. Read the full story on the blog, link 👇🏻

A very inspiring LRC Medal Monday

Three very different challenges this weekend, three incredible LRC athletes, let's celebrate.

Sarah took part in the stunning Patagonian International Marathon's half marathon with friends, pure racecation energy. Set within Torres del Paine National Park, this event has runners tackling gravel mountain routes against a backdrop of the iconic Paine Grande and Cuernos del Paine, with around 1,500ft of elevation gain across the half. Sarah completed the epic course in 2:43, an unforgettable way to see one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

Jo took on the Helvellyn Triathlon, widely regarded as one of the toughest triathlons in the UK. A 1 mile swim in the crystal clear waters of Ullswater, a brutal 38 mile bike leg over Kirkstone Pass (including the infamous climb known simply as "The Struggle"), and finishing with a 9 mile fell run up and over Helvellyn itself, England's third highest mountain, peaking at 3,118ft. After missing the 2025 season with a knee injury, this year has been all about getting back to start lines and simply enjoying it, and Jo did exactly that, smiling her way around the course and crossing the line with her family. She raced wearing her own medal, plus a very special family medal that's been passed down since 1898, originally earned by her grandad, who loved taking on epic foot challenges just like this one.

Ger took part in a 24 hour open water swim relay with his teammates, each taking turns swimming every hour, 4-5 swims each across the full 24 hours, including through the night. All in aid of charity, an incredible team effort from start to finish.

Sarah, Jo, Ger, huge congratulations. Genuinely so inspiring.

How we worked together....

Month 1 ➡️ Full body movement assessment, and worked alongside a physio to properly understand what was actually driving her knee pain.

Month 2 ➡️ Introduced weekly yoga and S&C, building the mobility and strength her running had been missing.

Month 3 ➡️ Gradually rebuilt her running, slowly and deliberately, no rushing back to where the pain started.

Month 4 ➡️ Now running 3 times a week, joining club sessions with friends, a long run up to an hour, plus two home based conditioning sessions a week.

It's cold, hard, solid proof that if you invest in yourself and do the work consistently, you build lifelong habits you can carry with you, not just while someone's coaching you through every step.

She's not going anywhere though. She's simply stepped from full coaching into our LRC Membership, still very much part of the LRC family, just in a different way.

Are you navigating runner’s knee?

Here’s the thing: your knee is a floating joint, it has almost no stability of its own, so knee pain is so often not really a knee problem at all. It’s usually tension, weakness, or imbalance somewhere else in the chain.

We’ve put together a free guide: 5 Things to Try for Knee Pain, the exact things we come back to when knee pain flares up.

Comment “KNEE” below and we’ll send you the guide 👇
