The Putting Cup was played yesterday in drizzly weather, which did not deter the 24 members taking part in the 18-hole matchplay format.Helen Thompson was the winner with Mandy McEvoy as runner-up. Lady Captain Jem Moran, who set a challenging course, presented the prizes and everyone enjoyed tea, coffee and sweet bites in a great atmosphere.

What a wonderful gathering of our past Lady Captains — from the most recent leaders to those who first paved the way over 45 years ago. It was a joy to see so many familiar faces, share stories, and relive cherished memories.

A successful round of golf set the tone for a lively lunch filled with delicious food, laughter, and, most importantly, the friendship and camaraderie that make these occasions so special.

🏌️‍♂️ What a morning for 9-year-old Hugh Dalzell! 👏⛳️

A very proud day for young Hugh as he took part in his first ever men’s competition, playing alongside his Grandfather Tom Dalzell and Great Uncle Gordon Dalzell. What a fantastic experience and a special family moment that they’ll all look back on with huge pride. ❤️

It’s brilliant to see one of our Bangor GC juniors stepping up and competing at such a young age. Hugh is a talented young golfer with a bright future ahead, and we wish him every success as he continues to learn, develop and enjoy his golf.

And as if playing in his first men’s competition at just nine years old wasn’t impressive enough… Hugh absolutely nailed his drive off the first tee! 🚀🏌️‍♂️ Putting more than a few spectators to shame! 😂👏

We love seeing our juniors progress through the years at Bangor GC, and we can’t wait to see where Hugh’s golfing journey takes him.
