Match Report | Away vs Willowbank Ladies 💙⚽️

An away trip to Willowbank Ladies on a warm and humid evening saw the girls produce another excellent team performance.

We started the game at a high tempo and found ourselves 2-0 up inside the opening five minutes. The girls continued to press well, playing some great attacking football while remaining solid at the back.

Two more goals followed before a couple of lapses in concentration allowed Willowbank to score twice in quick succession. The girls responded brilliantly, regained control of the game and added another before the break to take a 5-2 lead into half-time.

The second half started with both teams battling hard, but as the game went on our fitness, teamwork and quality began to shine through. The girls took complete control and were rewarded with a further seven unanswered goals. We created plenty more chances throughout the half and, but for some excellent saves from the Willowbank goalkeeper and a few missed opportunities, the scoreline could have been even greater.

Overall, it was a fantastic performance from the entire squad, with some excellent football played from back to front. A special mention goes to Sophie, who finished the night with an impressive five goals. 👏⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

Match Report | vs Larne Tech Ladies 💙⚽️

This is a tough one to write after such a heartbreaking result.

For around 70 minutes, we were the better side and produced some outstanding football. From our defending, to our midfield play, to creating chances in attack, the girls put in a performance they should be incredibly proud of.

Unfortunately, tired legs and a few poor decisions late in the game proved costly, and Larne found the winner with virtually the last kick of the match. When the whistle certainly should have come a few minutes earlier, but that's football and sometimes those fine margins don't go your way.

Credit to Larne Tech, who never stopped fighting and made us pay when we switched off. They took their chances well and scored a couple of outstanding goals.

It's a difficult result to take because the performance deserved more, but there are so many positives to build on. Football can be cruel at times, but we'll learn from it, stick together and come back stronger.

Heads up, girls. We go again next week. 💙💪⚽️

Match Report | Away vs Cloughey Ladies 💙⚽️
A very warm day for both teams and an entertaining end-to-end game saw us come away with all three points after an 8-6 win. 🙌

It took us around 25 minutes to settle, but once we did, we played some outstanding football.

We created some excellent passages of play, overloaded the wide areas and switched the ball brilliantly at times. When we got the ball down and moved it quickly, we looked a real threat and some of the assists and finishes were top class. 👏🏻🔥

There are still things for us to work on. A few errors and a drop in concentration in the final 30 minutes allowed Cloughey to score a couple in quick succession, but the girls showed great character and resilience. We reacted brilliantly, battled right to the end and responded with two goals of our own back-to-back. 💪

It was a difficult choice for Player of the Match, with some excellent performances across the pitch, but Abi deservedly takes the award for a superb display yesterday. 👏🏻🏆

Match Report: Castle Ladies vs Larne Tech

Castle Ladies started the game strongly, dominating possession and setting the tempo early on. The breakthrough came from the penalty spot after a clear handball, with Hannah confidently stepping up and finding the back of the net.

The pressure continued, and goals from Sophie helped us take a deserved 3-1 lead into the break.

Unfortunately, two defensive errors in quick succession allowed Larne Tech back into the game. The home teqm came out for the second half with determination and physicality, making it a tough contest.

We created several promising opportunities but couldn't quite convert the chances needed to swing the scoreline back in our favour.

Despite the result, the girls showed great determination, resilience, and teamwork throughout. We continued to battle and challenge Larne Tech, but lapses in concentration and shape created openings that the opposition capitalised on.

As always, we learn together, grow together, and take those lessons into the next game.

Match Day Report: Castle Ladies vs Willowbank Ladies

It was an end-to-end game on a warm day, with Castle Ladies taking control for large periods of the match.

A few mistakes led to us conceding, and despite creating plenty of chances, a frustrating spell saw several efforts go on and off target when we should have been comfortably ahead. However, we stayed focused and deservedly secured the win.

Molly and our captain stepped up when it mattered most, with a fantastic penalty save to keep us in front and preserve our advantage.

Things are starting to come together on the pitch, and there are massive positives to take away from what was an all-round fantastic team performance.

What a game tonight 💙⚽️

After finding ourselves 3-1 down, the girls showed unbelievable determination, grit and character to turn the game around and take a 4-3 lead.

It was a true team performance full of fight, energy and a real desire to win the game. We created the majority of the chances throughout but just couldn’t quite find a way past the keeper on a few big opportunities.

Unfortunately, a small lapse in concentration in injury time and quick thinking from the opposition meant the game finished 4-4.

Despite the late equaliser, there are so many positives to take from today’s performance. The attitude, resilience and togetherness shown by the squad was outstanding from start to finish 👏💪
