Next week I fly to London to take on my hardest event yet. For me, anyway! 🏃🏼♀️
24 hours.
Around a 400m track.
The furthest I’ve ever run in one go is 157km, so if all goes well, this will also be the furthest I’ve ever run. And honestly- I have absolutely no idea what 24 hours of running around a track is going to throw at me!
It’s also the first time in a very long time that I haven’t felt like I’ve put the training in that I normally would. But that’s okay.
I’m going in with an open mind, my usual Chloe strong-willed mindset of “we’re getting this done” and most importantly, a determination to enjoy the process.
Because that’s what ultras are about for me. The highs, the lows, the doubts, the little wins, the moments where your mind tells you to stop and the moments where you somehow keep going.
I believe we aren’t allowed phones on the track, so there’ll be no following me around on socials this time! 😂 But I’ll do my best to run well, soak up the experience, embrace whatever the 24 hours throws at me and see exactly what this body of mine can achieve.
24 hours.
400m at a time.
Let’s see what happens.

After losing a loved one this weekend, I’ve been reminded just how precious life really is.
How much we should love every ounce of it and every single person we’re lucky enough to have in it.
How important it is to follow the path we want to follow - not the one someone else thinks we should take.
To stop listening to the naysayers. To step away from toxicity and negativity. To stop worrying about what other people think and start doing what makes you happy, surrounded by the people who genuinely support you, believe in you and want to see you thrive.
Because life is short.
Far too short to live it for anyone else.
So love hard. Laugh often. Take the risks. Chase the dreams. Spend time with the people who matter. Do the things that set your soul on fire.
Life’s for living and we only get one shot at it.
So make it a bloody good one. ❤️

It’s all in the mind. 🖤
A long run last night, followed by the heartbreaking passing of my dear Gaga through the night, could quite easily have meant I stayed at home today feeling sad and sorry for myself.
But my mindset told me otherwise.
So today was for you, Gag. ❤️
Home with 3 flags - 2nd overall & 2nd in my age category in my solo race and 7th overall & 3rd in our category in the mixed pairs. Huge effort from my brother too. I’m glad that same mindset runs in the family!
There’s no stopping here. I’m actually really excited to give this a proper focus now. Running always takes priority and I’ve never really trained specifically for these events, so I’m excited to see what I can achieve when I actually train properly and give it the focus it deserves.
A fantastic event from start to finish. Thank you The Gauntlet ! 🖤

Due to lots of requests, I’m putting on a Granite Grit session this Tuesday, 7–8pm, replacing our usual Strength & Conditioning session.
Don’t worry though, the 8pm session will revert back to Strength & Conditioning as normal after the Granite Grit session.
You don’t have to be taking part in Granite Grit to come along! You can simply turn up, get a great workout in and have a go at the movements. We’ll also run through the standards and movements so you know exactly what to expect.
Can’t make Tuesday? Don’t fret! knightfit8 and Laura Murray are holding a granitegritltd session next Saturday, 12th September. Head over to their pages for more info!
See you there! 💪🏼

Happy September, how are we here already! 🥹❤️
Some recent thoughts…
I think you’ve got to take things a little less seriously.
It might not work for everyone but it certainly works for me. I think it’s what allows me to do so much, I don’t overthink things, I just do them.
I want to enjoy all aspects of life and lately, training hasn’t been what it “should” have been. Old me probably wouldn’t have coped well with that. I’d have stressed about missing sessions, worried about losing fitness and tried to squeeze training into every spare minute.
But the new me has accepted that life is full on.
Or maybe… I’ve just finally realised I’m no longer running away from my problems by going for a run. 🤣
Either way, I’m learning to be okay with not always doing what I “should” be doing.
I’m a business owner, building my own business and I’m a mum to two beautiful children. And they will always come before any training goal.
Training is important to me but it’s also not everything.
So, a little reminder to anyone out there who feels like they’re not doing enough, missing sessions or not sticking perfectly to their plan…
Don’t panic.
Life is too short to spend it stressing about the things you didn’t get done.
Have fun. Enjoy your family. Go for the run if you fancy it, skip it if you don’t. Take the pressure off yourself.
You can always train tomorrow.
But you don’t get today back. ❤️
This month does however, see a 24-hour track race. I’m going into it with an open mind and doing it for the purest reason of all - because I absolutely love this sport! ❤️

Explorr Marathon — 42.5km of two of the same VERY hilly loops! ⛰️
A training run ahead of my 24-hour track race in a few weeks, so it was a great confidence boost to come away with the win! 🏆
Even more special to take the win at such an amazing local event, run by my cousin Scott. ❤️
Hills haven’t really been on the cards this training block, with my next race being on the track, so I wasn’t quite sure how this one would go. But I’m really pleased to see that my body still feels strong on the climbs.
Maybe I need to get back to the hills soon… 👀
Crossed the finish line and straight back into mum life - no rest for the wicked! 😂 But I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Amazing event, explorr Festival I absolutely loved it and cannot wait to be back next year! 🫶

Two years ago, I stood on this start line for my first race back after having Lochie by C-section. The run Banchory race which is back again this year under a different name explorr Festival and looks fantastic! I can’t wait to take part in the marathon event this weekend.
Looking back at that version of me feels emotional. Not because I was the fastest, strongest or fittest I’ve ever been but because I was figuring out how to chase a goal while also learning how to be a mum all over again.
And I think that’s something we don’t talk about enough.
Being a parent and chasing goals is HARD.
Whether you’re training to race, trying to get stronger, building a career, starting a business or simply trying to find 30 minutes for yourself, it’s a completely different game when you have little people relying on you.
There are no perfect recovery days.
No guaranteed 8 hours sleep.
No switching off after a hard session.
No “I’ll just take it easy today.”
Because life still goes on.
There are school runs, sleepless nights, packed lunches, nursery drop-offs, tantrums, cuddles, work, responsibilities and a million things that don’t care whether your legs are sore or you’ve just run your hardest race.
So please - stop comparing your journey to someone who isn’t walking in your shoes.
You don’t have the same life.
You don’t have the same responsibilities.
You don’t have the same recovery.
And you don’t need to.
You can be ambitious AND be a parent.
You can chase huge goals AND sometimes have to slow down.
You can be an athlete AND have days where surviving the day is the achievement.
Progress doesn’t always look like a PB.
Sometimes progress is simply showing up.
And to every mum and dad out there trying to chase something for themselves while raising their little ones:
Keep going.
Give yourself grace.
Be proud of the small wins.
And remember, you are doing a bloody amazing job.
Your kids don’t need a perfect parent.
They need a parent who shows them that it’s okay to dream, to work hard, to fall down, to start again and to believe in yourself.
And maybe, one day, they’ll look back and realise just how incredible you were for doing it all. ❤️
Another Gauntlet prep session ☑️ So great to see a gym floor fillled with such strong women! 💪
