Our new bands have arrived! 👏
Looking forward to putting them to use in Chair Yoga today.
Here are a couple of ways we’ll be using them in class.
There is one space left for this afternoon.🤭

Jayne Raithby RYT 200, Hatha Flow, Beginners & Chair Yoga in Banchory. Classes are in my cosy at home studio & local spaces.
Continuing our theme of Tune In this week. 🧘♀️
Sometimes a really small change can make a noticeable difference to the way a pose feels and perhaps also to how it benefits us.
In Bridge, try lifting your toes and notice what changes through the back of your legs. Then place your feet flat and see how that feels in comparison.
I also tried moving my feet further away and closer towards my sit bones, as you might notice in the video.
Neither is better or more correct. It’s simply about noticing, exploring and tuning in to what you feel and perhaps what feels more right for you on that particular day.
What do you notice? 😊
Last night's veggie chilli, featuring yet more courgettes! 😂
So far we've had courgette chilli, courgette pasta sauce, courgette omelette and vegan goulash with courgettes.
There are still a few almost ready to pick…🫣
Please give me some new ideas! What’s your favourite courgette recipe? 🤭
Just planning Thursday’s Chair Yoga warm-up… 💃🪑
Marches
Toe taps
Arm pushes
Side reaches (toe taps optional)
No complicated choreography required and improvisation is definitely allowed. 😉
Watch until the end when the cameraman couldn’t resist the beat! 😂
This week’s theme is simply to Tune In 🧘♀️
Perhaps taking our focus to those small changes in how we move or position ourselves that can make quite a difference to how it feels.
Maybe you choose to stay a little more upright and focus on stability or soften forwards and allow yourself to relax and release. Neither is better, it’s about what you need in that day.
So this week we’ll be exploring the different options within our practice and taking a little time to notice what feels right for us.
Acknowledging that our bodies don’t feel exactly the same every day, so perhaps our yoga doesn’t need to either. 😊

Making curry for dinner 🍛
I love it with onion bhajis, but the shop-bought ones often contain gluten.
So… does anyone have a really easy gluten-free onion bhaji recipe they recommend? 👇
Asking for my future curry dinners! 😂
🦉 Owl Pose | Chair Yoga variation
A simple seated movement, linking breath with the opening and closing of the arms.
Hands come together and point down, then on the inhale, the arms lift and open like wings.
A gentle way to bring a little Taking Flight into Chair Yoga too.
I couldn’t leave my Chair Yoga flock out of the bird theme! 😂🦉
A lovely shoulder stretch you can do almost anywhere. 🪡
Seated Thread the Needle is great in Chair Yoga, but it's also perfect if you've been sitting at a desk, travelling or simply want a gentle movement break.
Move slowly, breathe comfortably and just go to where feels right for you.
This week’s theme is Taking Flight 💛
Expect:
Stork ✔️
Eagle arms ✔️
Standing Pigeon ✔️
Standing Owl… maybe? 🤔🦉
I may have got a little carried away with the bird theme! 😂
