An excellent effort from the team at the Off the Tee Trophy at Stonehaven Golf Club yesterday! 🏌️‍♂️👏

After securing a brilliant win against Inverurie in the semi-finals, the team pushed hard all the way to the final. While ultimately falling just short to a very strong Cruden Bay side, making the final and taking home runners-up is a fantastic achievement.

An incredible effort by the whole team - many congratulations!

I would just like to pass on a Big Thank You to Banchory Golf Club for allowing us to hold our North of Scotland Ladies Championship which was played from 27th - 29th July 2026.

I was delighted when Banchory Golf Club agreed to allow Aberdeenshire Ladies County Golf Association to hold this event at my home club during my first year as County Captain.

We had a great entry of 77 players taking part from 32 different golf clubs across our 4 Counties. We attracted some of the best players and they all displayed excellent golf throughout, with the usual respect for each other and sportsmanship that we are known for.

The spectators all enjoyed the golf during the final day despite the heavy downpours where the Champion Lucy Moran (P&K) was 3 under par after 17 holes and Runner-Up Robyn Fowlie (Aberdeenshire) was 1 under. Lucy is also the Girls Champion for the 3rd time so a great achievement indeed.

I would like to thank our Head Green keeper, Mark Lawrence and his team for having the course in excellent condition. Despite the very dry conditions then heavy rain the course held up. We are so lucky to have such a lovely golf course, and it was admired by all.

Thanks to Banchory Golf Club members who gave up their tee times during the three days - that was greatly appreciated.

To Doreen Baillie and her team of bakers who served the competitors tea, coffee and lovely home bakes for two days - we appreciate the work that went into the organising of it for us all to enjoy. An incredible amount of £320 was collected and the amount raised during the year goes to local charities nominated by Banchory Ladies. This year the money will be shared between Archway and The Seed Box.

Thanks also to our Bar & Catering Team who served us with our food & drinks.

A team of Banchory ladies were delighted to win the Aberdeenshire County Team Knockout Competition, otherwise known as the Lyon Foursomes.

Banchory ladies entered two teams to start the round of 16 on Monday 3rd August at Deeside Golf Club. Sadly Team 2 of Susan McInnes, Liz Rattray, Carol Dawson and Ruth Lyon lost in the first round of what is a scratch matchplay competition.
Team 1 of Gail Christie, Becky Flaherty, Ali Cousland and Tricia Halliwell beat Duff House Royal, mainly thanks to Becky and Gail being 11 holes up, and then emerged victors against Meldrum House. Team 1 returned on Tuesday 4th to win against Ballater. This set up the final match against Aberdeen Ladies first team, who have won the trophy multiple times. The final was a very exciting match which went right down to Ali's knee knocking putt on the 18th.

There were lots of celebrations as this is the first time in 38 years that Banchory has lifted the trophy. The team would like to thank their supporters, who braved the rain, to come and watch. Kathleen, Susan, Jackie, Ruth and Carol supplied plenty cheers and updates on the score. The team were absolutely delighted to have the trophy presented by Ann Smart, County President, and for Linda Urquhart, County Captain, to witness the win. Both these esteemed ladies were in the winning Banchory team 38 years ago.
