Fabulous Friday news!! 🎉
The HOB Fun Run Committee are delighted to announce that this year’s run raised an incredible total of £2,700! We are absolutely over the moon with this achievement and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make it possible.
As mentioned previously, the funds will be shared as follows:
• 50% towards school sporting and wellbeing initiatives
• 25% to Banchory Paths
• 25% to Aboyne Gymnastics & Trampoline Club

What a fantastic day we had at the HOB Fun Run on Saturday! 🏃🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♂️
Over 260 primary and nursery children completed the 1.5km loop around HOB Primary School, with runners joining us from across Banchory and the surrounding areas. It was wonderful to see so many families supporting the event — thank you all for coming along and making the day so special!
While we’re still finalising the total amount raised, we wanted to take a moment to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the event possible. Without the incredible support from our community, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters, events like this simply couldn’t happen.

As a reminder, the funds raised will support sporting and wellbeing initiatives within the school, while also allowing us to give back to our wider community and continue promoting healthy, active lifestyles for children.
This year’s beneficiaries are Banchory Paths and Aboyne Gymnastics & Trampoline Club. Funds raised will help improve accessible path networks for all abilities and support the development of the new Banchory gym facility.

A huge shoutout to all our amazing volunteers, stall holders, and supporters — we truly couldn’t do it without you! 🙌
Just 7 days to go until we welcome nursery and primary school children from HOBS and surrounding community settings to take on the 1.5km loop around Hill of Banchory! 🏃♀️🏃♂️
On the day, registration opens from 9am, with the fabulous Granite Grit Ltd ladies leading our warm-up at 9:45am to get those little legs moving! Runners will then gather in class groups, with P7 closest to the start line through to Nursery, ready for the race to begin at 10am.
We’re also delighted to have the wonderful Pete McIntosh from Original 106 joining us as MC for the morning. Alongside the race, there’ll be plenty happening to keep non-runners entertained too, thanks to some fantastic community groups and businesses including Banchory Community Football Club Sc051182 2012’s, The Movement Bothy, Continental Cream and Banchory Paths. ⚽️🍦
Our hardworking Parent Council Fundraising Team will be running a stall serving teas, coffees, and delicious home bakes, along with some fun games for everyone to enjoy. ☕️🏀🦆
Once all runners have crossed the finish line, all participants will receive a medal kindly donated by K & I Paterson Ltd and a celebratory 10th anniversary water bottle donated by Bancon Homes. 🏅
We’ll finish off the event with entertainment by the brilliant Stardust Banchory and Deeside Dance Centre while we wrap up raffle sales before the big raffle draw! 🎶🎤👯♀️

Happy last week of term all 🤩
2 more days to go before summer hols are finally here ☀️whether you love the holidays or just can’t wait for them to be over before they’ve even started…we have some great news from our committee to share with you all and finish on a high.

The HOB fun run committee are delighted to announce that the 2025 fun run has generated £2000 which we will be distributing to the HOB School sports fund and our chosen charities, Banchory Outdoor and Active (BOA) and Fiona Melville’s London Marathan fundraiser for Hippotheraphy and BSAC (Banchory and Stonehaven Athletics Club).
