Hat-trick of Titles for Banbridge Boxing Club at the National Cadets

A fantastic weekend for Banbridge Boxing Club as Lucie Prentice, Isaac Ireland and Caoimhe Smyth all claimed Irish titles.

What a fantastic day for Banbridge Boxing Club at the National Cadets Championships!

🏆 Isaac Ireland – Champion of Ireland
🏆 Lucie Prentice – Champion of Ireland
🏆 Caoimhe Smyth – Champion of Ireland

🥈 Alex Prentice – Silver Medallist after a closely fought contest that unfortunately went against us on a split decision.

A brilliant championship for the whole Banbridge team, with great performances, plenty of positives and three more Irish champions added to the club’s roll of honour.

Huge congratulations to all boxers, and a massive well done to everyone who has supported them along the way.

National Cadets Championships

Isaac Ireland produced a dominant performance to advance to tomorrow’s final with a unanimous decision

Isaac now joins club mates Caoimhe Smyth, Alex Prentice & Lucie Prentice in tomorrow’s finals.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be for Ellie Ward & Harrison Orr, who both exited the championships after split decisions.

National Cadets Championships

Excellent, skilful boxing from Harrison Orr tonight as he secured a unanimous decision victory to book his place in tomorrow’s semi-final. 👏🔥

Josh Kilpatrick, Michael Ward and Franky Mooney all performed very well and gave it everything, but unfortunately it just wasn’t their night.

Plenty to be proud of from all four lads.

National Cadets Championships 2026

Michael Ward has got us up and running with a composed and controlled performance to secure a victory in the U15 42kg category.

An excellent display from Michael, especially considering he’s boxing up a year. A brilliant start to the championships—well done, Michael!

The action now moves to the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght, Dublin, where the closing stages of the National Cadet Championships take place next weekend.

A total of nine Banbridge Boxing Club boxers will be aiming for National Glory.

Fantastic skills bout tonight from Kayla Sloan on St George’s BC Fight Night, held at St George’s Market.
