This might genuinely FEEL true ⬆️ You might have not eaten a large physical volume of food, but that doesn’t mean you haven’t consumed calories
When food is small, convenient or eaten in passing it can often not be registered as properly eating 🍽️
Your coffee en route, something sweet in the afternoon, a bite here.
These choices are often the most calorie dense (not exactly reaching for a nice juicy carrot are we 😂) and they often offer very little food value or volume. So cals are high but it doesn’t keep you full, AT ALL.
That’s why you can reach the end of your working day and think “gosh I’ve barely eaten” whilst already consumed a significant number of cals
None of these foods are inherently bad, but combined on an average day matters when it comes to fat loss. Your food choices, in order to keep you full and operate well do matter
You CAN loose weight only eating McDonald’s
You CAN PUT ON weight by only eating chicken and rice
That overall calorie number is the golden nugget but you want to make sure that the food you are eating keeps you satisfied (as being in a deficit is HARD!) so you want to make it easier for yourself by having as much protein, fibre and whole foods as possible to keep you as full as possible
This example actually only covers a typical working day. Not including your evening meal or evening snacks.
Sometimes as humans we can also be a little bit in denial “it just doesn’t work for me”, “I’ve tried everything” - but have you tried being both accurate and consistent?
That’s all it is. Accuracy and consistency.
