Garvagh got back to winning ways against a young Portrush side. Dempsey headed Garvagh in front, Milliken scored from the penalty spot and Whiteside added a brilliant strike from distance.

Garvagh feel like today was a missed opportunity to claim the 3 points. Gordon put Garvagh 1 nil up before half time and the team had chances to extend their lead. A poor 15 minute spell allowed Draperstown back into the game and they took the lead after poor goals from a Garvagh perspective. Garvagh equalised from the spot to take a point.

The Club would like to pass on our condolences to the Johnston family on the death of Tommy.

A familiar face around the town and a talented footballer in his day just like his brothers.

Peacefully at Brooklands Tommy R.I.P. late of Lyttlesdale, Garvagh.

Son of the late William and Bridget; loving brother of the late Jimmy, John, William, Susan McCahon, Maggie Elliott, Joe, Brian and Mary Kelly; a dear brother-in-law; uncle; great uncle; great great uncle and a friend to many.

Garvagh started poorly again and found themselves 1 nil down at half time. Second half Garvagh were far better but found themselves 2 nil down. With 20 minutes to go, Garvagh battles back to lead 3 - 2 taking it into the final mins. An unfortunate handball gave Magherafelt Reds an opportunity from the spot to even the scores up. Garvagh will be happy to have been 2 nil down and comeback bit also will feel like 2 points dropped after being 3-2 up. No mid week fixture so next match is away to Draperstown Res next weekend.
