🔵FONACAB JUNIOR CUP – 1ST ROUND 🔵

Tomorrow sees the Blues make the trip up to Burren, outside Warrenpoint, where we take on Millburn United in the 1st Round of the FonaCAB Junior Cup.

It’ll be a tough test against a strong Millburn side, made even tougher with the Blues travelling with a very depleted squad due to injuries, suspensions and players being away on holiday. But there’ll be no excuses from the lads — they’ll be ready to give it everything!

The team will meet in the morning for breakfast at Tullyglass House Hotel, and we’d like to extend a huge thank you to Gus at Tullyglass for arranging this for the squad. It’s massively appreciated by everyone at the Blues. 👏

From there, it’s the hour-and-a-half journey to Burren for a 2pm kick-off.

🚌 Bus returning around 6–6:30pm
📍 Back at The Village Inn for around 8pm

And the night doesn’t end there! 🍻

We’ll all be heading into The Village Inn afterwards, where Stevie has kindly organised a DJ for the night.

Cullybackey Blues FC 4-1 Carnlough Swifts

🔵 ANOTHER BIG 3 POINTS! 🔵

Another big three points for our Morning Team yesterday as the Blues came away 4-1 winners against Carnlough Swifts.

The Blues started on the front foot and dominated possession, with the breakthrough coming on 30 minutes. A great cross from Cole Magill found Gary Glass, who brought it down well before finishing to make it 1-0.

Just three minutes later, it was 2-0. A scramble in the box fell to Rob Kelly, who made no mistake to double our lead.

It was then 3-0 in the same minute as Marc Faulkner collected a weak pass from the Carnlough defence, drove into the box, beat three defenders and finished brilliantly.

Carnlough pulled one back in the 89th minute, but the Blues responded immediately. Kenzie McFall showed great footwork to play in Cammy McMullan, who finished well to make it 4-1 in the 90th minute.

Another excellent result and another three points for the Blues! 💙👏

We wish Carnlough Swifts all the best for the rest of the season.🔵

Cullybackey Blues Dev 2-3 Wellington Rec Swifts

🔵 A GREAT FIRST COMPETITIVE GAME! 🔵

Another good display from our Development Team in their first ever competitive game, narrowly losing 3-2 to a strong Wellington Rec Swifts side.

The Blues took the lead around the 30th minute, with Marc Faulkner finding the net once again after featuring for both teams yesterday — and scoring for both! 👏

We held the lead well until around the 65th minute, when tired legs started to show and Wellington found an equaliser. Two quick goals followed to put us 3-1 down.

The lads kept fighting, with Jordy Balmer finding the net to make it 3-2, but unfortunately we couldn’t find the equaliser.

Plenty to work on, but lots of positives to take from our first competitive outing. 💙

This fixture was originally scheduled to take place at Tobar Park, but due to a lack of caretakers, the game has been moved to Maltina Park. Our home fixture against Carnlough Swifts will now be played later in the season.

The Blues are currently enjoying a great run of form, playing some excellent football and finding ourselves sitting 3rd in the league. Tomorrow is another opportunity to keep building, keep pushing and continue our progress. 💪🔵
