Bakewell Swimming Pool & Gym We are a swimming pool located just off Granby Road in Bakewell. We have a 20x10 Metre pool and a small gym. Dive into some fun at Bakewell swimming pool!

Bakewell Swimming Pool is a local community pool and gym situated in the centre of Bakewell. Easily accessible on foot, by car and by public transport. Facilities & activities include

From Monday 5th October until Saturday 10th October July, it’s time for Badge Week in our Learn to Swim sessions – and we can’t wait to see just how far everyone can go! 💦

🔥 2,026KM. ONE DAY. ZERO EXCUSES. 🔥

This National Fitness Day, Freedom Leisure centres across the country are going head-to-head to see who can go the furthest.

Your mission is simple:
🚶 Walk
🏃 Run
🚴 Cycle
📏 Record your kilometres

Every centre has a target of 2,026km – but reaching it is only the beginning!

Once your centre hits the target, we want you to KEEP GOING!

Because this isn't just about reaching a number. It's about getting more people moving, having fun together and seeing just how far we can go when everyone plays their part.

You don't need to run a marathon. You don't need to be a fitness fanatic. Even a few kilometres can make a difference.

So grab a friend, jump on a treadmill or bike and help your centre climb the leaderboard.

The question isn't whether we can hit 2,026km… it's HOW FAR BEYOND IT CAN WE GO? 👀

🌟 MEET THE TEACHER: CHRISTINE 🌟

This week, we're shining the spotlight on Christine, one of the familiar faces of our Swim School here at the Arc Matlock and also at Bakewell Swimming Pool & Gym. 🏊‍♀️

Christine is a competitive endurance based triathlete and runner, mum of two fantastic young adults and she has found the perfect post police career retirement job in sharing her love of sport by helping future generations learn to swim and be safe around the water 💦

As well as teaching Stages 1-7, Christine also teaches Ducklings & competitive swimming Stages 8-10.

Christine teaches for us at the Arc Matlock on a Tuesday & Wednesday and at Bakewell on Mondays, Thursday & Friday.

💦 Our Swim School: We offer swimming lessons for all ages and abilities, from beginners taking their first splash to swimmers looking to develop their technique and water safety skills. Our structured programme helps swimmers progress at their own pace in a safe, fun and supportive environment.

This National Fitness Day, we’re challenging EVERY Freedom Leisure centre to go the distance! 🏃‍♀️🚴‍♂️🚶‍♂️

On Wednesday 16 September, we want you to help your local centre clock up an incredible 2,026km on the gym floor.

Walk it. Run it. Cycle it. Every kilometre counts. 📍
And here’s where it gets competitive…
Once your centre hits 2,026km, DON’T STOP! 👀

Keep going and help your region record the biggest distance across the day. Which Freedom Leisure region will go the furthest? 🏆

Whether you’re a regular gym-goer or just fancy getting involved for National Fitness Day, there’s no pressure to be the fastest or fittest. Just get moving, have some fun and add your kilometres to the total.
