πŸ’ͺ Breathwork and reformer Pilates go hand in hand. Both can calm the nervous system, reduce tension, support relaxation, improve focus and create a mind-body connection.

❀️ Our friend Kate Copley is offering 3 totally free of charge places on a case study basis to take part in a 1:1 60-90 minute conscious connected breathwork sesssion.

☺️ We highly recommend so give her a call or drop her a message. There are three spaces available.

πŸŽ‰ Thank you so much to everyone that wished me a happy birthday! 50 is indeed fabulous!

❀️ Feeling so good at this milestone has made us think about keeping fit moving Into the next phase of our lives.

πŸ’ͺ Doing Reformer Pilates regularly in your 50s can help you feel stronger, more mobile and more confident in your body β€” rather than simply exercising to β€œget fit.” Consistency is key!

πŸ‘΅ Why not come and try it, whatever your age!

🚨 We are so excited to introduce Erin, our amazing instructor who will be joining Fig Tree on Mondays and Thursdays to teach you lovely lot!

πŸ‘‹ Hi everyone! I’m Erin and I am so excited to be joining the team at Fig Tree as a Reformer Pilates Instructor. πŸ’š

πŸ’ͺ I am recently qualified as a Level 3 Reformer Pilates Instructor, adding to my existing qualifications as a Level 3 Mat Pilates Instructor, Level 3 Personal Trainer, and Level 2 Fitness Instructor.

❀️ I am passionate about helping people build strength, improve mobility, and feel more confident in their bodies through movement, all whilst having a bit of fun along the way!

🀩 One of the things I love most about Reformer Pilates is that it can be adapted to suit everyone, whether you’re completely new to Pilates or already hooked.

πŸ’ͺ Do not be fooled by the smooth-moving carriage though, some exercises have a sneaky way of reminding you muscles exist that you didn’t even know you had! πŸ˜‰

❀️ My aim is to deliver classes that are supportive, welcoming, and enjoyable, where you can challenge yourself, and leave feeling stronger and more relaxed than when you arrived.

✨ As part of the Fig Tree team, I hope to bring plenty of smiles, encouragement, and thoughtfully planned classes that help people build confidence in their movement and enjoy the process. I’m also really excited to be part of the friendly community that makes Fig Tree such a special place.

πŸ‘― I cannot wait to meet you all. See you in class! πŸ’š

🦡 We have all been there!

πŸ’ͺ It is very common for your legs to ache the day after Reformer Pilates β€” especially if you’re new to it! πŸ‘πŸ”₯

❀️ The main reason is DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness). Reformer Pilates can challenge your muscles in ways they aren’t used to, particularly with slow, controlled movements and resistance from the springs.

🦡 Your muscles have been worked hard – squats, lunges, footwork and bridges can really target the quads, glutes and hamstrings.

πŸ”₯ Tiny amounts of muscle damage occur – this is a normal part of your body adapting to exercise and rebuilding stronger.

🎯 You are using muscles that may not usually get much attention – those smaller stabilising muscles work constantly to keep you controlled and balanced.

⏰ The soreness often peaks 24–48 hours later – which is why you might feel fine after class but wake up the next morning thinking, β€œWhat have I done?!” πŸ˜‚

πŸ’§ Gentle movement can help – walking, stretching and staying hydrated can make you feel more comfortable while your muscles recover.

The good news? That post-Pilates ache is often a sign that your body has been challenged and is adapting. πŸ’ͺ✨

πŸ‘― Have a fab weekend Fig Tree fam! We still have spots tomorrow morning at 9.30am and would love to see you!
