U12 Ducks!
Well, the 26/27 season is finally under way! It was really nice to get back to it and start our campaign after last season’s promotion. And yes… after an amazing summer, of course we were going to get the rain! 😂🌧️
Before kick-off, we spoke to the boys and reminded them that they totally deserved to be here and of the strengths they have as a team. A good warm-up and team talk later, they were ready to go.
We started well, moving the ball nicely and getting as many touches in as possible. Risborough are a very good side and were closing us down quickly, but to be fair to the boys, we matched them and responded in kind. It made for a very tight and interesting game to watch.
Chances were few and far between throughout the first half and after another quick chat and a couple of changes, we set about trying to create more chances while keeping things tight at the back.
Risborough started the second half brighter and created a few opportunities, but the boys showed great resilience. They fought their way back into the game and created chances of their own. We finished the game as the stronger team with plenty of positives to take from our first game back at this level. 💪⚽️
⭐ Player of the Day ⭐
Our supporters’ player was picked and, really, no one could disagree!
Making three great saves, Hudson made sure his team were still fighting. The coaches couldn’t disagree either, with Hudson making it a double and taking home both the supporters’ and coaches’ Player of the Day awards. 🧤👏
Definitely a mention as well to Charlie at centre-back and Isaac in midfield, who both had great games.
