✨ A little moment of reflection ✨
Tomorrow is a pretty special day for Cherry Little Studios — our very first set of dance exams, with a huge 110 dance exams in Ballet & Tap !
And I think because I’m always looking ahead to the next goal, I don’t always stop and appreciate just how far we’ve come.
Cherry Little Studios will be 4 years old this November. I built the studio from scratch, with a huge amount of hard work, determination and a very clear vision of what I wanted CLS to become.
As a professional dancer and aerialist first , I’ve always set myself high goals and high standards — and I’ve carried exactly the same mindset into being a teacher and owning my own studio. I’ve never wanted CLS to simply be another dance school. I’ve always wanted to create something a little different and something that I could be proud of.
In just four years we’ve already had two full theatre productions — and these aren’t your typical studio showcases. They’re fully themed productions, with a storyline running throughout, combining dance, aerial, acrobatics and musical theatre, designed to flow as an actual show rather than a stop-start performance. Seeing my students perform something I’ve created from scratch is honestly one of my favourite things. ❤️
We’ve also been incredibly lucky to be invited to film for BGT for the upcoming Series 20 advertising which was such an exciting experience for some my students
And now… our first ever set of dance exams. 🥹
110 exams is a pretty huge milestone for a studio that hasn’t even reached its fourth birthday yet.
And next time, I will be adding Acrobatics exams into the mix too!
Apart from Musical Theatre, I still teach every class at CLS, so I get to see my students grow from their very first steps, their first routines and their first nervous performances, to now walking into their first exams. I feel incredibly lucky to be able to watch that journey so closely.
I’ve always got another goal in my head 😂 and there is already so much planned for next year, I probably should just stop and breathe for a minute…
But tonight, I’m allowing myself to feel proud.
Proud of the studio.
Proud of my students.
Proud of my small team who help make CLS what it is.
And proud of myself.
Because this all started with a dream and a lot of hard work — and four years later, look what we have.
And despite the long days, planning, teaching and always thinking about what’s next, I absolutely love my job. I get to do what I love, share my passion for dance and aerial, and watch so many amazing children and adults discover what they’re capable of. I genuinely couldn’t imagine doing anything else. ❤️
Tomorrow brings nerves and excitement, but most importantly, it marks the beginning of another chapter for Cherry Little Studios. Good Luck to all my dancers
