𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:
Kent Golf, in conjunction with Active Kent & Medway, is excited to announce this Mental Health Seminar to be held at West Malling Golf Club.
It is planned as an introduction to Mental Health in the workplace, with speakers from four different fields explaining what to look for regarding Mental Health issues and how to deal with them, as well as learning about well-being and coping strategies.

Mid Kent GC hosted our Kent Golf 2026 Summer Mixed Greensomes and presented a well-maintained and enjoyably challenging course, with the odd spot of rain that has been in desperate need for golf courses.

Making the most of the playing conditions were the Canterbury couple of Fran and Andy Fearn, who had the best score of the day with 44 points, taking home the Mackenzie Nett Trophy. Runners-up were Julia Martin-Harper and Robert McFadden (The Ridge) on 41 points on countback from last year’s winners Hilary Brown and Richard Elson (Prince’s), who took away third prize this year.

In the Jerrom Bowl Scratch competition, Littlestone’s Claire and William Phelps triumphed with 32 points, with the Hever Castle pair of Carolyn and Mike Swan taking second spot with 31, and in third place with 29 was Finella and Martin Una from Pedham Place.

Nearest the pin for the women on the 4th hole was won by Barbara Plews from Canterbury, and for the men on the 13th hole was Rob Mitchell from Redlibbets. Both players were presented with a bottle of rosé from Dan at Gusbourne, who also held a wine tasting for everyone with a selection of their superb sparkling wines.

In Claire’s thank you speech, she mentioned she was a Gravesend girl living on the same road as the club for most of her teenage years, and yet it was only the second time of playing the course. We hope they enjoy coming back to play Mid Kent soon, as the club kindly donated a voucher for the scratch winners.

We thank Mid Kent Golf Club for their warm welcome, with a special mention to Kevin (bar manager) and his team of Katie, James, Beth and Nathan, who rose to the challenge of providing food without their chef and thank Mid Kent for the complimentary drink for all the players.

The final thank you goes to our Kent Golf volunteers Helen, Marilyn, Simon and Sue. We appreciate their time and effort in making this event run smoothly.

On a dry and breezy day, we travelled to Chigwell GC for our final league match of the season. After the torrential rain on Thursday morning, the course had softened up a bit, which helped with the bounces being less extreme. Considering the very dry summer, the course was presented well.

Essex have had some good results this year, and we were level on points in the league at the start of the day, so there was still plenty to play for. We all had good and competitive matches, especially Sue, who had a very good half coming back from 5 down and nearly birdieing 18 to win. The final result remained in doubt until that last putt.

Chigwell GC looked after us very well, and everyone thanked Julie Finnegan, who has now finished her 4 years as Essex Captain.

Kent 2½ – 3½ Essex

Team Prince's finish 2nd in the English Women's Champion Club 🥈 👏

Team Prince's (Teagan Ford, Alessandra Mitchell, Sandy Hallet) were leading after day one, scoring a fantastic 151 (2 best scores out of 3) at a horrendously wet and windy Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club, which was the best combined daily score of the whole tournament.

They followed with a respectable 162 on the final day to finish as the runners-up, 5 shots behind Team Walton Heath. Congratulations to the winners.

Coach Mark Trow is delighted to have the opportunity to help Kent's up and coming junior golfers progress with their technique, skill set and enhance their enjoyment in the game of golf.

🏌️ 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲?
This group coaching option is available to boys and girls between 6–16 years of age who have previous experience of golf. Players may be relatively new to the game, but would have the basic fundamentals in place.

Team Prince's are leading the way in the English Women's Champion Club at Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club 💪 👏

"With 18 holes remaining, it's the Kent club that holds a five-shot lead after finishing the opening day on +5 at a horrendously wet and windy Felixstowe Ferry.

Alessandra Mitchell and Teagan Ford fired rounds of 75 and 76 gross respectively, with Mitchell recovering from a front nine of 41 to card two birdies and seven pars in an excellent back nine of 34."
