Tarkett Sports | EMEA is pleased to announce the launch of the FieldTurf Carbon Offset Program. FieldTurf customers can now opt to offset 100% of the CO₂e resulting from the production of their synthetic turf field, in a process independently audited and verified by the Verified Carbon Standard Program. VCS is the world’s most widely used voluntary GHG program, and projects developed under the VCS program are subject to rigorous audits to ensure that standards are met and methodologies are properly applied. This is yet another innovative offering in our industry-leading Sustain The Game sustainability program.

At Tarkett, we are constantly working to reduce carbon intensity – we do this by measuring our carbon footprint through our Environmental Product Declaration, reducing the carbon footprint at our manufacturing and suppliers and for the remaining emissions propose certified carbon offsetting. At FieldTurf, the process starts at our yarn extrusion plant in Germany Morton Extrusionstechnik GmbH using 100% green electricity and using European-sourced polymers. FieldTurf synthetic turf is produced in France using low carbon electricity and the recycling of production waste. Our Carbon Offset Program is available for the entire range of FieldTurf synthetic turf products and the Program is made possible through Tarkett’s active engagement the UN’s REDD+ initiative.

Dundee United Football Club, currently in fourth position in the Scottish Premiership, chose the market-leading FieldTurf Core synthetic turf system for the recent redevelopment of their training facilities. In partnership with Doe Sport North, the Tarkett Sports | EMEA FIFA Quality Pro certified solution was selected as the preferred option for the Club’s principal training field. Great to be back in Sweden, visiting the R&D centre of the Stockholms Fotbollförbund. FieldTurf dual fiber systems with organic infill solutions including PureFill cork and PureSelect olive stone infill are installed as part of a research study for the Football Association.
