Sometimes as a Triathlete its a treat to do an event that involves one discipline. It was a quiet Triathlon weekend.
Claire Kelly Lily Roney Ayla Uรญ Dhonnghaile Marion O Donnell had a ladies morning cycling in the hills of Donegal, wet tough morning but definitely didnt dampen their spirit.๐โ๏ธ
Una Mone and family took on another tough cycle, this time, The Ring of Kerry, over a 100miles again with plenty of hills. โฐ๏ธโฐ๏ธ
Barney Gordon and Joan Murphy took on Lord and Lady of the lough in one of our favourite spots Camlough Lake. Which involved swimming the full length of the lake. ๐
Another family day out in Tyrone. Barry Lynch and dad. John Swail and daughter. Clare McGee and daughter. All ran the really well organised and great event The Great Rossa Run 10k. Barney took on the half marathon.
There was one Triathlon though. Andrew MacDonald cant get enough of this game now ๐คฃ. Took a last minute entry to Co Clare for the Olympic Distance in kilkee. Busy weekend well done everyone. โซ๏ธ๐กโซ๏ธ๐ก

We had Pikekickers spread over the country at the weekend. Literally from bottom to the top. Massive well done to Bri Murray and team Tri Limits Triathlon Club completing Mizen 2 Malin in just 4 days.
Natasha Martin took herself to Downings and took on one of the toughest triathlons in the Country Sheephaven Half distance. The heatwave finished just in time and the high winds and rain came in. But that did not hold back Natasha. She went and won her age group. Well done Natasha ๐๐๐.
Dominic Clarke headed for Wicklow. Another challenging triathlon the Harbourman Triathlon.
Gareth Dempsey was in Brown Bay. A solid performance only the sat nav sent him the wrong road on the run ๐คฃ๐. Another great weekend ๐กโซ๏ธ๐กโซ๏ธ

We are delighted for our new Triathletes. Triathlon is always a massive challenge. As you have 3 disaplins in one race to train for. If you are not a swimmer a triathlon can seen a long way off especially the open water swim. As a club we pride ourselves in welcoming new members. But also supporting them to get their goal.
This just doesn't happen over night. These TRIATHLETES started their work before Christmas. Not only attending club sessions. They had to do the work themselves. As well as Pikekickers members helping and advising too.
They all have their own stories of how they have got to this point.
Massive well done to Ayla Uรญ Dhonnghaile Lily Roney Andrew MacDonald Rodney Meenley, Finbar Conroy, Claire Kelly Nikolai Terziev. You are all now TRIATHLETES. No better way to compete in the home of The Pikekickers at Tri The Orchard. This is only the start to this crazy sport.๐กโซ๏ธ๐กโซ๏ธ
