A slight delay to this month’s newsletter as we’ve reached the busy end of term and the start of the school summer holidays! While you’re here, we’d like to take the opportunity to remind everyone about this year’s Sponsor Child Gifts.

If you sponsor a child through The Dalitso Project, we’d be grateful if you could hand in your gift by Friday 31st July. The gifts will travel with our team to Malawi in October, so please remember to keep everything lightweight and pack it in a reusable bag or carrier bag.

Each gift should include:

* A smart non-school shirt/blouse or dress (below knee length)
* A small packet of Haribo (16g)
* An age-appropriate playing card game
* A letter/card and photo from you

Please also attach a tag with your name and your sponsored child’s name to the bag.

Thank you to everyone who has already handed in their gift. We look forward to personally delivering these special gifts to each child during our visit to Malawi in October. 💙🇲🇼

One of the photos shows Mike, who is overseeing the build. Mike has worked alongside The Dalitso Project on a number of projects over many years and continues to play a key role in bringing this exciting development to life.

More internal photos to follow soon. 💚

🏥 Maternity Unit Update – Kambilonjo

The latest photos show just how much progress has been made in a short space of time.

The brickwork and roofing are now complete, giving a much clearer picture of the scale of the building and what it will provide for the local community. The images also show just how close the maternity unit is to Dochas Medical Centre, allowing the two facilities to work closely together to look after the community they are part of.

Over the past few weeks we have shared updates as the steelwork arrived, the roof structure was assembled and the roofing sheets were fitted. Seeing the building now weatherproof and fully taking shape is a significant milestone in the project.

Work has now moved inside, where teams are focusing on the next phase of construction. We’ll share photos from inside the building next week to show what is happening behind the walls.
