‼️Match report‼️

A game of two halves on Saturday as Arbroath Harp ammo’s battled back from 2–0 down to earn a 2–2 draw against Parktool Athletic.

Even after a decent start we saw ourselves go two goals behind, but the lads showed great character and determination to fight their way back into the game. Harp levelled things at 2–2 and had chances to go on and take all three points, but unfortunately we just couldn’t find the back of the net again.

On reflection, a draw was probably a fair result, but there are plenty of positives to take from the fight and attitude shown to come back from two goals down.

MOTM – Bryce Mackay

A brilliant performance from the young midfielder, who was excellent throughout. Bryce worked tirelessly in the middle of the park and put in a performance well beyond his years. 👏

We go again next week. 💪

Back to training, working hard and putting right the things that need improving.

Lee Page, a coaching staff member for the Scottish National Olympic Weightlifting Team, who recently coached the team at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, along with Corey Paterson, a Youth & Junior Scottish Weightlifting Champion, are hosting two FREE ‘Have a Go’ Olympic Weightlifting sessions next month on behalf of Weightlifting Scotland, the sport’s governing body.

Olympic Weightlifting training is great for youth athletic development, as we incorporate:
• Movement & coordination
• Jumping (plyometrics)
• Strength
• Mobility
• Weightlifting technique

These are all transferable skills for other sports such as rugby, netball, basketball, football and athletics, as well as being great for building confidence.

The sessions will be held on 17th & 24th September, from 6:00–7:30 pm, at The Warehouse Gym, Arbroath.

With only 8 spaces available, availability is very limited.

If any club members aged between 13–30 are interested, please phone or message me on 07758784035 to book their place.

Today the footballing community pays its respects and says their farewell to Arty Gray.

Although Arty was never part of Harp, he was a very big part of youth football in Arbroath from Academy, to boys clubs, Amatuer and Junior football paving the way for many of Arbroath young talent to thrive in the game.

Arty being a big part of Arbroath Vics supported Eddie in supporting a transition from Harps first ever youth team in to regular training and games through the Vics. Arty of course provide the nurturing support and guidance to the boys stepping up under Arty and Eddie.

R.I.P Arty, forever in our hearts and minds. ⚽️

MATCH REPORT | Queen Anne’s 3–2 Arbroath Harp

A bad day at the office for the Harp.

We started poorly and found ourselves 2–0 down, but credit to the boys as we found our rhythm and battled our way back into the game at 2–2.

Unfortunately, we switched off at the worst possible moment, conceding in the final minute to leave empty-handed after a 3–2 defeat.

A frustrating one to take. We know where we went wrong and we’ll learn from it.

Heads up, we go again next week!
