🏑 Ladies 2s | Instonians 0–1 Antrim

What a start to life in Junior 10! 💪

Our Ladies 2s travelled to Instonians on Friday for their first game since promotion and came home with all three points!

Combining youth with experience, the squad showed determination and teamwork throughout. A fabulous run and finish from Summer W secured the win, while special mention goes to Shirley, who stepped into goal and saved a crucial penalty stroke!

A brilliant team performance and plenty to look forward to this season.

⭐ Joint POTM: Lorna M & Molly B

🏑 Ladies 1XI | Antrim 1–2 Ballynahinch

Our Ladies 1XI opened their league campaign at the Forum on Saturday with a closely fought contest against Ballynahinch.

Antrim started brightly, creating some great attacking opportunities but couldn’t find the breakthrough. The visitors took the lead from a third-quarter penalty corner before adding a second in the final quarter.

The girls kept battling, with Kerrie C firing home from the edge of the circle to bring Antrim back into contention. Despite pushing hard and creating more chances, the equaliser just wouldn’t come.

Plenty of fight and positives to take into the next game! 💪

⭐ POTM & goalscorer: Kerrie C

🏑 Men | Antrim 4–3 Raphoe

Seven goals, a hat-trick and a hard-earned Antrim win! 🔥

Our men welcomed Raphoe on Saturday, determined to get a result against opponents who have proved tough to beat in recent meetings.

Raphoe struck inside five minutes, but Antrim stood firm and levelled when Mark S found Peter K, who buried his chance. Jack McC put Antrim ahead early in the second quarter, only for Raphoe to reply and make it 2–2 at half-time.

The end-to-end action continued as Peter K fired home a rocket from a penalty corner. Raphoe equalised again within a minute, setting up a tense final quarter.

Peter K then completed his hat-trick with the decisive goal to seal a superb 4–3 victory! 👏

A tireless team effort, with crucial work from the defence and goalkeeper helping Antrim over the line. Well done to the lads and coach Chris Hanna!

🥅 Goals: Peter K ×3, Jack McC ×1
⭐ Joint POTM: Cameron H & Peter K

Well done to all the teams and Coaches this weekend and a special thanks to Stuart & Jonny for umpiring and to all our supporters and help on the sidelines.

Keep an eye on the page for upcoming Senior & Junior fixtures this week.

LINDEN CUP R1 | FULL TIME
Armagh 4–3 Antrim HC Men’s 1XI

A battling performance from our Men’s 1XI in their Linden Cup opener, but it finished in a narrow 4–3 defeat away to Armagh.

Armagh took an early lead and were 1–0 up at the end of the first quarter. Antrim responded well, with Andrew Chambers finding the net, but Armagh edged back in front to lead 2–1 at half-time.

The game remained tightly contested, with Antrim creating chances and pushing hard throughout. Armagh extended their lead in the final quarter, but the lads showed great character to keep fighting back. Further goals from Peter Kane and Jack McCrickard kept Antrim right in the contest, but Armagh just held on to take the win in an entertaining cup tie.

There was also a real positive in seeing four returning players — Robbie Watt, Scott Mitchell, Max McCooke and Alex McBride — pull on the blue shirt again. Brilliant to have all four back involved with the Men’s 1XI.

Plenty of positives to take from the performance, with determination shown right to the final whistle.

Goalscorers: Jack McCrickard, Peter Kane, Andrew Chambers
Player of the Match: Max McCooke
