With two assists and a goal to her name, Skipp takes yesterdays Player of the Match award!

Skipp put in a top performance, worked hard for every ball and never gave up. Her persistence and determination paid off in the 87th minute when she scored the winning goal. Well done, Skipp!

Yesterday’s away trip to Abbeymead saw the team come away with another three points after a hard-fought contest from start to finish by both sides.

After conceding earlier in the first half, Soper found the back to bring us level and send us into the break at 1–1.

Godwin then put us ahead in the second half, but Abbeymead fought back to make it 2–2.

With great determination to steal a winner, Skipp struck in the 87th minute to send us into the lead and secure all three points!

Another hard shift put in by the team against strong opposition and another important win on the road. 6 points from 6, a great start to the season!

A huge win for The Ford today against old rivals Cheltenham Spa Women!

The team had to battle hard to secure the result against a strong, pacey side. With only two substitutes available, it was a real test of strength, endurance and mental resilience but every player dug deep and gave everything for the full 90 minutes.

Manager Graham Stedman also showed his experience, making some important tactical changes to help us see the game through, to which each and every player stepped up and played their part brilliantly.

Goals from Chev and Skipp gave us the lead before Cheltenham pulled one back just before half-time, sending us into the break 2-1 ahead.

After the restart, Cheltenham equalised and put us under pressure. But we found a way through with Lucy Phelps putting everything on the line to get the ball in the back of the net and restore our lead.

Cheltenham played some great football and gave us a tough test, forcing our goalkeeper Liz into some brilliant saves in the second half.

A fantastic battle, an awesome team performance and a great win to get our season underway!

Our first game of the 26/27 season gets underway this weekend, we’ll be playing away to local opposition, Cheltenham Spa.

We’re absolutely buzzing to get the season started and will be hoping to continue our pre-season friendly form.

Today’s Player of the Match went to Leanne Godwin

Leanne played in three different positions today and was superb in every single one. She worked incredibly hard throughout and capped off a fantastic performance with a lovely goal!

Today’s game saw us come away with a 6-3 victory against a strong Abbeymead side.

Making full use of pre-season, we used the opportunity to try a few different things on the pitch, which at times impacted our fluidity. Despite the changes, we went into half-time 3-1 up before coming out stronger in the second half and finishing the game 6-3.

Abbeymead fought back strongly, but the team stuck together and ground out a great result against a good opponent.

Another game with multiple scorers is fantastic to see, taking us to 19 goals in 3 games, with 8 different scorers!

Thank you to Abbeymead for hosting today’s game and all the best for the season ahead.

That leaves us with just one more pre-season game to go before the league starts and we couldn’t be more excited to get the season underway!
