When people think about Pilates and golf, they often focus on the performance benefits: improved mobility, rotational strength, balance, and body awareness. All of these qualities can contribute to a more efficient swing and greater consistency on the course.

However, Pilates can also play an important role in rehabilitation and returning to sport following injury.

After sustaining a shoulder injury, I spent almost a year away from the golf course. Throughout that time, the comprehensive range of equipment available in the studio enabled me to progressively rebuild strength, restore movement, and improve shoulder function in a controlled and targeted way.

A well-designed Pilates programme can help bridge the gap between injury and performance by addressing movement quality, stability, strength, and confidence. While every injury is different, the principles of progressive loading and intelligent movement are fundamental to a successful return to activity.

For me, that process has meant returning to the golf course after a year away and enjoying the game again just in time for the summer season.

Whether your goal is to improve your golf performance or support your recovery from injury, Pilates offers a versatile approach to helping you move and perform at your best.

Most of us go through life never thinking about how we breathe… until stress, poor sleep, anxiety, low energy, or burnout start showing up.

But your breath affects everything.
How you sleep.
How you recover.
How you handle pressure.
How calm or overwhelmed you feel.

Breathwork isn’t about “just taking deep breaths.” It’s about learning how to breathe in a way that helps your body and mind work better together.

When you improve your breathing, you can improve oxygen efficiency, calm your nervous system, sharpen focus, and support both physical and mental performance.

For athletes, that can mean better endurance, recovery, and composure under pressure.
For everyday life, it can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep, increase energy, and bring you back to a calmer, more balanced state.

The way we breathe often reflects the state we’re in; fast and shallow when stressed, slow and controlled when calm. The good news is we can train that.
