⚫️U9 Gladiators

Another strong performance from the Gladiators today, this time at home to Haslemere Harriers.

The team played with skill and confidence throughout the match, with a mixture of brilliant individual and team play.

⚪️Under 12s Meerkats.

Unfortunately we lost 1.0 to a very good division 1 team (Wi******er, who also won division 1 last year). We probably deserved a draw as we missed a few chances and their goal came from a high looping ball from their midfield. Like always the girls did not stop working hard for one another and seemed suited to a new higher league, just unlucky we didn’t get the breakthrough. Willow got managers player, whilst Ruby got players player.

🟡U15 Thundercats
Difficult first game away to IOW, an early start for most the girls applied themselves really well and never gave up in a first 80 minute match.

As a team in transition, the result (5-0 Loss) didn’t show the back and forth nature of the game but IOW were fast on the. counter and finished there chances really well.

Our first game in division one unfortunately ended in a 2-1 defeat vs Wi******er reserves.

A game which had a quick start, with us being ahead after 5 minutes with Jordan playing a lovely ball across the box with Jodie finishing from 11 yards out, before Wi******er replied quickly a couple minutes later.

On a whole the football today was really good, working hard towards our targets whilst playing our way.

A good battle between both teams, but Wi******er went ahead with 15 minutes to play. We responded well and were going for it, a saved penalty and a goalmouth scramble unfortunately kept us behind come the final whistle.

Great to see Arienne back after an ACL injury, with debuts to Cara, Jordan, Dani and Caitlin.

Great fight and effort from the ladies, and we look to continue that next week away vs Mudeford!

The Devs are top of Division 4 after digging deep to win a scrappy game away at Aldershot Boys & Girls 3-1.

We created but failed to score some early chances, and then the game became a tough battle with rain sweeping in.

Aldershot took the lead with around half an hour played but we equalised with the last touch of the half - April's corner being turned into her own net by a defender.

A change of approach in the second half saw us much more on the front foot with Jade getting two quick goals to put us 3-1 up.

The game remained scrappy, but some determined play saw us take home the three points. Thanks to Aldershot for the game and we look forward to welcoming them to Alton later in the season.

Our Player of the Match was Leanne who put in another solid shift in defence. Next week the Devs are at home to Solent Sports Rangers.
