With the hot weather continuing and the summer holidays beginning, many of us will be spending more time around the water.
Recent events have been a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly a day out can turn into a tragedy. Our thoughts are with everyone affected.
Every year, around 40β50 young people aged 0β20 are estimated to drown in the UK, making it more important than ever that we all know what to do if we unexpectedly end up in the water.
If you find yourself in difficulty, remember Float to Live:
π Tilt your head back with your ears submerged.
π Relax and try to control your breathing.
π Move your hands and feet gently to help you stay afloat.
π When your breathing is under control, call for help or swim to safety if you can.
Please take a moment to learn this lifesaving technique and share it with your family and friends. It could save a life.

π A Hollywood surprise at Willowburn! π
We were delighted to welcome Critics Choice Award-winning American actor Timothy Olyphant to Willowburn for a swim during his time in the area! πββοΈβ
Our very own Melvyn was definitely a little starstruck π€© β but still made sure Timothy received a warm Willowburn welcome!
It was a pleasure to have him visit our centre, and weβd like to wish him the very best with filming for the upcoming series Alien: Earth. We canβt wait to see it!
