Alloa greenkeepers 2024

Update on winter work.
Before Christmas we done drainage work on 8 and 11, we also extended the 3rd medal tee and currently the 6th tee is getting a small extension to the back of it. Over the next month we will commence work on a drainage project on the 6th and seven more bunkers are going to get shaped and liner installed.
Greens have been hand cut this week and coming up really nice, very healthy for the time of year and the weather we’ve had.

Another gorgeous day at Alloa golf club, very little rain in the last couple of weeks and none forecast for at least another week. Out this morning spraying seaweed, bio stimulants and a soil surfactant, water on afterwards.

Great weather for some golf at a classic example of a James Braid course. Greens coming on nicely as is the rest of the course.

Running the pro core with seed pots on it over our tees, creating a pot 20mm deep and using a dwarf rye to over seed, finished off with a light dressing of root zone

Course really taking shape before the season. Guys have been putting the hard work in and it’s showing. Also want to say a massive thank you to all the guys who volunteered over autumn and winter, some great work done out there by you all. Thanks goes to Andy, Robert, Alan, Scoops, Ian, Malky, Craig and Harry.

Out star slitting the greens today, this keeps the top surface open and allows more air into the profile, also cutting selected areas of the course.
