What a brilliant weekend working with the coaching team at the fantastic Galway Lawn Tennis Club in 🇮🇪

I love what they are looking to build there under the stewardship of Garrett Barry

A clear vision and plan to help their players not only contribute to the club but also their province and country. The sky is the limit when people work together for a higher cause than themselves.

We did 5 on-court sessions which were all videoed and the coaches received a bespoke written resource covering everything we covered.

I also had the pleasure of working with 8 parents around the principles I use to help parents create a healthy way to navigate through the topsy turvy world of junior player development.

This is exactly the type of work I love doing in what feels like the last main chapter of my career. Cultural development feels like the right challenge at this point.

It’s a framework to help coaches think more carefully about how they intervene, how feedback lands with the player, and when the moment calls for praise, encouragement, correction, a micro-stop or something more substantial.

A proper tennis club in the heart of Putney. The vast majority of members walk and cycle to the club. A real community feel.

Well done to Nick Hatchett on leading the team so well.

Another Senior Performance Course comes to an end. 18-months of hard work on and off the court with 18 great people all working hard for their players.

Shout out to Paul Brown who missed this module due to illness. You were missed and we wish you a speedy recovery.
