Jimmy Keir ....

In the early hours of Thursday morning, Jimmy Keir passed away. It was sudden and unexpected, and it has shocked everyone. He was a past president, a champion of many competitions and medals, and a joker, a gambler, alongside his competitiveness to win. He was a close friend to so many, and a bowling partner to a few of us too.

Just a week after losing Jack, another hole has been blown out of the club and our hearts, and in time we will honour both their legacies, but for now, we stand united, together in grief, as our friends rest easy, watching over everyone who knew & loved them.

Arrangements will be announced when available.

Fixtures ...

Unfortunately this year it appears we are struggling to fulfill our fixtures due to a lack of interest, holidays or a lack of support to play. I also understand that people have a life and families outside of here.

This coming Saturday, Tulliallan will be coming for a 2 pm start with 15 players at home. Pies and sausage rolls will be bought for the fixture and anyone able to help to make up numbers would be much appreciated.

Next Saturday we are away to one the best fixtures on the card ... Gourock Park. It's our legendary spoon player who is president and I hope to take a full card for that one.

Discussions are already being had about cutting fixtures as we cannot fulfill them. It is embarrassing to the club, the match secretary, and damaging to the home club due to missing out on expected revenue and paying bills.

Money from Saturday games help keep partnerships and clubs afloat. Without a sufficient income, we won't last 2 years. Members will go elsewhere and history and friendships will be lost, and after 100yrs that's a sad thing to happen.

If you can think of alternatives to help next year's match secretary to make the season better and more appealing to the club and its members, please voice them, otherwise it will be a sad decline.

It is with a heavy heart, and great sadness, that we announce the passing of former President and Treasurer Jack McLellan, who passed away this morning. Jack did so much for the club and will be missed by all who knew him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this sad time. Rest Easy Jack 😢💔
