This weekend we delivered the Lloyds British National Gravel Championships in Ae Forest - a real milestone for Outsider Events.

Stepping into this space has been both exciting and humbling. After five brilliant years of Red On Sports shaping and delivering the British Gravel Champs, the standard they’ve set for UK gravel is undeniable.

Taking on the event as it became British Cycling‑sanctioned came with big shoes to fill AND we’re proud of how the 2026 edition landed.

Ae Forest welcomed the nation’s best, and we were especially pleased to introduce UCI‑aligned 5‑year age bands and a full Youth–Elite programme plus TT.

There’s still work to do in shaping what a sanctioned gravel championship should be - including stronger promotional support from the governing body - but the discipline is evolving, and we’re committed to helping shape that future.

Events like this demand huge time and financial investment, especially with no guarantee of future editions. For now, we’re proud to have delivered a proper race on a proper course with a team that ran flawlessly when it mattered.

A massive thank‑you to our volunteers, the Tayside 4x4 Response team, and the British Cycling commissaires for keeping the event safe, smooth and professional throughout.

And finally - to all the riders who joined us in Ae Forest - thank you for bringing the energy, the grit and the spirit that make gravel what it is.
