Fly fishing in Aberdeenshire Situated in peaceful surroundings in a rural Aberdeenshire, you can fly fish amongst beautiful Scottish scenery and wildlife.
Fly fishing is available over 3 lochs for high quality rainbow trout and brown trout. Also available is a stretch of the Mossat burn for wild Scottish brown trout. We can provide tackle hire and offer fly fishing tuition and instruction with our low cost fishing lessons. New facilities were opened in 2012 with a cosy wooden fisherman's cabin and clean and modern toilet facilities to make your visit to Mossat Trout Fishery even more comfortable.

We are still waiting for demolition of unsafe buildings with subsequent building work.

***Update 02nd September 2021***
Unfortunately we remain temporarily closed until works to the outbuildings at the fishery are progressed further.
At this stage we don't have a timescale for reopening just yet but hope to welcome you back to the fishery in the near future.

UPDATE 28.03.21 - The fishery remains temporarily closed due to extensive snow damage that occurred last month to the barn situated adjacent to the main loch. Following a recent structural survey the damage has made the barn structurally unstable. Our priority is visitor safety and with the barn so near to the loch we must remain closed for the time being.
We hope to commence works on the barn shortly so that the fishery can re-open as soon as possible.
Please continue to bare with us and we will provide a further update in due course.

⚠️⚠️⚠️COVID-19 UPDATE 04th January 2021⚠️⚠️⚠️
Following the First Minister's announcement today we have made the decision to temporarily CLOSE the fishery for the time being given the escalating Covid situation in Grampian 😔
We look forward to welcoming you back at Mossat Trout Fishery in the near future. We will provide a further update when the fishery will be re-open.

Some nice catches recently at the fishery despite the very cold conditions. Lewis caught 13, Gary 6 and Colin 6. Pink fritz and black/purple blob worked well 🎣
