Pairs Stableford Open

Another warm, sunny day at Alford as we welcomed 40 teams to compete in our Pairs Stableford Open. Fast greens and tricky pin positions tested the players with no team beating par.

All prizes went to home players with Callum Coutts and Scott Spence taking the scratch prize of £60 each returning a gross score of 56 points.

We had four teams all returning scores of 64 points so placing had to be decided on countback.
1st - £60 each - Jamie Reid & Keisha Smart with a back 9 of 34 points
2nd - £40 each - Derek & Margaret Thompson with a back 9 of 33 points
3rd - £30 each - Gary Smart & John Morton with a back 9 of 30 points
4th - £20 each - Ali Wright & Watson Mutch with a back 9 of 29 points.

Thanks to the greens team, clubhouse staff and volunteers for their efforts today.

Our next Open is on Sunday 12th July which is a team of four, any combination of ladies and gents, playing a stableford format with the best two scores at each hole counting.

We are trying to raise funds in aid of Friends of Anchor and will be giving 4-ball vouchers for various clubs across the North-east as prizes instead of Scottish Golf vouchers to maximize the amount raised for the charity.

We already have vouchers for Trump Aberdeen, Cruden Bay and Meldrum House as well as many others. Entry only £80 per team, booking via our website or by calling the Club Manager Mon - Fri 9-1.

Alford Golf Club Sponsors Day 2026

We were pleased to welcome teams from 18 of our sponsors to play a Texas Scramble yesterday. Winners of the Sponsors Cup were Alford Roofing who returned a nett 51.3.
