U10 FERNS

We also made the decision to place our U10 ferns in the U11 Category for the tournament on Sunday and they finished as RUNNERS UP!! Again another team competing in an older age group and they definitely showed up. Playing some brilliant netball throughout the day and not being phased by much taller, more physical opposition. Every single one of them worked their socks off throughout the day.

Our coaches made the decision to enter lilacs in the TG Tournament playing up in the U11 Category, which for some was playing 2 years up! The girls did not disappoint and stepped up to the challenge. Not only did they compete exceptionally well against older more physical teams they even managed to finish runners up in the plate final. Although a few calls made us miss out on winning the plate final the club is beyond proud of the girls efforts on Saturday. Every girl played a part in the day and they all worked really hard together, supporting each other throughout the day and also and some memories to last a life time.

U14 HAWTHORNS

It was another win for Hawthorns in the Wednesday night league, meaning they still remain undefeated. Although it took a few minutes for the girls to settle into the game and find their usual rhythm, once they found it some beautiful netball was displayed. The ball moved down quickly and safely with good strong drives into space creating lots of shooting opportunities which were capitalised on. Final score was a 35-19 win.

U15/16 LIONESSES

It was a fabulous performance from our lionesses to get a 15-10 win against Norton Fawns. The girls demonstrated fantastic determination, teamwork and resilience throughout the match. From the first whistle the girls worked incredibly hard.

U13 HAZELS

Hazels filled in for a friendly against MG Wildcats U14’s. Although a loss against an experienced team, the girls played some brilliant netball. Defence worked super hard to regain possession of the ball and created lots of shooting opportunities for the shooters.

U5/6/7

On Friday evening we hosted a friendly for our U5/6 team against our U7 team and what a first game it was for all of them. The girls played full 7 a-side matches and demonstrated some brilliant netball with some great passing and moving on display. For most it was there first proper netball match but you wouldn’t have known with how they were playing!

It was great to see so many smiles on court and all the girls really enjoyed it. We will definitely have to get a few more friendlies booked in!

⭐️ MINI STARS OF THE WEEK ⭐️

Another fabulous session from our littlest members this week, we managed to add in some adult drills in the session and the children took to it really well. Listening this week was brilliant with every one of them following instructions perfectly. Brilliant to see some of the children mastering balancing on the bench all by themselves as well.

U13 PERFORMANCE SQAUD

Our performance squad made the long journey down to play Stamford and Rutland U12’s on Saturday evening. The girls played so well and I don’t think they realised how good they were. The girls approached the game positively and battled through until the very end.

Q1 - 6 goal loss
Q2 - 9-9 Draw
Q3 - 6-7 Loss
Q4 - 7-5 Win

Final score was a 35-30 loss but definitely a well contested game from both teams.

U11 MAPLES

Maples carried on their winning streak on Sunday with a 15-1 win against Roosters. Every player contributed to a a fantastic team display, showing just how much progress they have made this season. The standard of passing through court was excellent with the girls moving onto the ball and moving it confidently down court.

Their development throughout this league campaign has been lovely to see and now the results are starting to pay off for the girls as we sit 2nd in the table.
